12/12/2019 11:37 | Actually AliCat, you make a good point but the opposite to the one you intend! I don't imagine many undergraduates go for postal voting - it requires work and attracts attention. So, to vote twice, they would need to travel from home to university - how many are going to be willing to spend that money? They have higher priorities, like beer, for instance. We probably shouldn't worry about them too much. You're right that fraudulent postal voting is a concern, of course, although I'd disagree with you in limiting it to a particular group. | ![]() grahamite2

12/12/2019 10:46 | At least we know the first action Miss Swinson will make if elected. All Tory and labour voters will be sent to sit on the naughty chair. | pierre oreilly
12/12/2019 10:45 | And while you would assume Boris Johnson , Jeremy Corbyn, Jo Swinson and the other leaders will be putting a cross next to their own name, that's not actually the case for the current Prime Minister. Johnson didn't actually vote for himself when he arrived at at Methodist Central Hall, near Downing Street, at around 8.15am. But before you start thinking that the PM might have had a sudden (and somewhat drastic) change of heart, the reason why is actually more of a logistical thing. | gotnorolex
12/12/2019 10:45 | Think the brexit party will poll very badly, and given they withdrew from most of the safer Tory seats it probably won’t make a huge difference. Can’t say I’m enthusiastic about any of them. Johnson is a dishonest coward, Swinson sounds like a sixth former and Corbyn... Could do without the creationist DUP having any leverage too. I’m going to vote for a local independent. | ![]() dr biotech

12/12/2019 10:35 | A good Tory majority will be good for shares and the pound. I hope the country gives the undemocratic Labour and Lib Dems a harsh lesson on ignoring the majority. We all knew LEAVE meant LEAVE, it was clearly stated a thousand times by the Remain side, it was also clearly stated in that pamphlet sent to every household in the UK. | ![]() jacko07
12/12/2019 10:35 | Citizen Smith is a British television sitcom written by John Sullivan, first broadcast from 1977 to 1980.[1] It starred Robert Lindsay as "Wolfie" Smith, a young Marxist[2] "urban guerrilla" in Tooting, south London, who is attempting to emulate his hero Che Guevara.[3] Wolfie is a reference to the Irish revolutionary Wolfe Tone, who used the pseudonym Citizen Smith in order to evade capture by the British. Wolfie is the self-proclaimed leader of the revolutionary Tooting Popular Front (the TPF, merely a small bunch of his friends), the goals of which are "Power to the People" and "Freedom for Tooting". In reality, he is an unemployed slacker and petty criminal whose plans fail through his apathy, ineptitude and inexperience. | ![]() freddie01
12/12/2019 10:35 | @gotnorolex - 12 Dec '19 - 10:09 - 286126 Alp Columbus had no SatNav, neither did Vasco da Gama! I saw a comment many years ago that the Labour Party should adopt Christopher Columbus as its mascot, on the basis that - When he set out, he didn't know where he was going. When he got there, he didn't know where he was. When he got back, he didn't know where he'd been... And, he did it all on borrowed money. How things (don't) change! | pawsche
