That's quite undeniable, Alps, but where does the rumour come from? I missed it, does anyone have a link?

What would the women of Tyneside who used to send their children to school with nothing but a turnip smeared with jam for their lunch make of £400 entertainment systems?

Poverty befalls the lazy and them that won't learn! Opportunities taken are regarded as opportunism by cynics who stand back & denounce effort!

If Lloyds bids for Metro it is going deeper into its domestic strategy.

If a school cannot afford the books needed to educate the children properly, or have an appropriate number of teachers for children, is that not poverty?

Come on get a grip.

The reality is In this country only a very small number leave under poverty. Benefits make sure of this. I am afraid people want the best this days no matter if they can afford it or not and mobiles, TVs are part of it as the BMW and Mercedes and so on..

The latest mobiles do not cost £1,000. Only if you want to buy the best from the best. I can get a new iPhone 11 Pro for about £700 with trade in. That is top-of-the-range from the premium brand.

Same with TV sets.

A big "wide screen tv" costs under £200 quid nowadays it's hardly a sign of affluence for christs sake.

I always find you lot a right laugh though, as you don't seem to see any issue with paying a guy £5 million p/a for basically doing nothing and then giving the same guy another couple of million in shares, again for doing nothing, and then topping up his pension by yet another couple of million (even though he's only been with the company for a couple of years) and then are just happy to accept this as "normal" when said company has been found to have overstated it's profits and / or enters administration etc.

I mean, that guy was worth it surely ???

That's WHY he was paid so much, surely ???

Meanwhile you think that paying someone £9 per hour is more than acceptable as they can buy everything they need to survive on that, can't they ??

It's also the £9 per hour mob that pay with their jobs when the mistakes of Mr Big Balls comes to light, but again, that's just life isn't it ??? Tough but I'm sure they'll be ok.

I know I'm wasting my time though as you really don't get it, do you ????
