China getting tough on trade sends markets tumbling.

A chump in the White House is bad for us all.

I see the powerful American Farm lobby have told the uk that we shall have to accept their standards if we wish to buy food from them in any trade deal.

What cheek, the seller telling the customer what will be allowed to buy.

We shall have to do as we are told, what was that about a Vassal state?

Edward2Posted August 15, 2019 at 6:40 am |PermalinkYou will never make Professor. The EU is not a free trade bloc. The EU is a protectionist bloc with high tariffs on many imported products especially from poor emerging nations. In spends a third of its total budget on protecting its main member's farming industry against world competition and it charges the UK tens of billions a year just to be a member.

Corbyn is causing many large utility investors to reroute their investments via Malaysia so they can fall back on Bilateral Investment Treaties.

What a mess.

Just looked at some of Woodford's holdings. I tell you what, he still has great personal conviction despite what has happened. It would be easy for him to just buy stocks that the chimps want to see. I can understand why his funds are currently holding the stocks that he has. I too have some similar holdings.

Joe Swinson talking about a temporary coalition, but not with Corbyn leading it.
The Daily Telegraph wrote recently that a Kenneth Clarke led government could be an outcome.

I think ken Clarke is respected by all, and it could work.

The vast majority of mp's wish to stop no deal. Shortly they shall be in charge. They can remove boris when the time is right.

Boris knows he has no power as PM, even less than may, he is just electioneering.
he knows that a no deal Brexit will not be allowed.

The DOW has been over-valued for quite a while. As I said before to Sentiment, you have to invest considering risk too. It isn't all about return.

"The result would be accepted by all"

You think ?

I'm sure there's quite a few foaming at the mouth psychopaths who just happen to frequent this board who certainly wouldn't accept anything other than a "hard brexit", "leave means leave", "wto and go" etc, etc, etc.

EU industrial production tumbles – but UK doing much better than EU
Latest figures show the EU in decline

OBSERVATIONS
Brexit is fundamentally about sovereignty and democracy, not economic statistics.

The reason we bring readers economic information like that above is not because we enjoy analysing such things. We do it because organs like the BBC are fond of reporting prominently on anything remotely negative about the UK, but seldom report on anything negative about the EU – particularly when such news paints the UK in a more positive light.

The economic picture overall in the world is not rosy. Certainly the latest figures from the EU reinforce concerns generally.

In our view this highlights the prospects of a fully independent and sovereign United Kingdom outside the economic shackles of Brussels regulations and tariffs. Post-Brexit, the UK will be free to adapt and thrive, using every conceivable competitive advantage.

If the UK Government had signed the Withdrawal Agreement and Political Declaration, the UK’s fate would have been tied to the EU, with no possibility of responding to the global economic circumstances.

Roll on 31 October, “come what may, do or die”.

"The ECJ is the highest court of the European Union in matters of Union law, but not national law. It is not possible to appeal against the decisions of national courts in the ECJ".
