Jeremy Hunt has made the first major gaffe of his campaign by implying that people who voted Leave are “little Englanders”.
In a Twitter response to a question about Brexit, Mr Hunt said he would “deliver a Brexit that works for the 48% not just the 52% - a positive, open and internationalist Brexit, Great Britain not Little England".
Kate Hoey says: “How dare Jeremy Hunt make such a snide comment about the millions of Leavers. Not a very sensible way of uniting the country.”
It comes after Dominic Raab, who supports Boris Johnson in the leadership campaign, called Rory Stewart's bluff over the plot to block no-deal Brexit as the Hallowe'en exit date row intensifies between Jeremy Hunt and Boris Johnson.
The former Brexit secretary said there would be "vanishing few" ministers who "would be willing to countenance such a damaging step" after Rory Stewart, the Secretary of State for International Development, said he "would definitely vote against a Conservative government to stop a no-deal Brexit".

Whilst I was a paying member I was not removed.

I was removed afterwards for comments I made. Silly, really. I made far worse when I paid. LOL

The NHS is not a monopoly, you are free to access health care wherever you want.

Lots of talk about the NHS on here, remember The EU's TTIP? where US businesses would be guaranteed 'market access' to sell services in Europe, and given 'national treatment'—putting them on a par with European companies. The same goes the other way round.

What’s this got to do with the NHS?

Market access means that monopolies must be abolished. These include public services that are provided by the state or by a limited number of suppliers—like the NHS.

Can someone tell me why the EU is good for the NHS?

Crossing, Mrs May is pursuing a scorched earth policy. She wishes to do as much harm as she possibly can while she still has the chance.

Yesterday the Govt pushed through a tax hike from 5% to 20% VAT on solar panels to comply with EU law.

I did not support them. What is it about Mrs May’s Govt that they are so wedded to the EU? We're leaving. We don't need to set our taxes in the ways they demand anymore.

"Utter idiocy of May's government continues..."

Wow..
More good news for your favorite bank's share price .

A drop in the ocean?

UK financial services companies have racked up a Brexit bill of close to £4bn as they prepare to shift people and capital to the EU, according to EY, the consultancy.

Some of Britain’s biggest financial services groups have disclosed £1.3bn in relocation costs, legal advice and contingency provisions since Britain voted to leave the EU three years ago, plus an extra £2.6bn in capital injections as they set up non-UK headquarters.

Banks have put aside extra cash to cope with a possible rise in defaults after Brexit amid concerns about the UK’s economic outlook in the wake of a disorderly exit.

Banks also face extra costs to shift offices, people and technology.

“So far, only a small proportion of the largest, listed firms have put a number on potential costs, which means this number is likely to be a drop in the ocean.”

At present, many financial institutions have put their plans to relocate jobs and assets to mainland Europe on pause, due to the uncertainty about Brexit, which has twice been delayed since the originally scheduled date of March 29.

jacko - two very unpleasant posts do not make a good one.

I suggest that ALL the vitriolic posters rein in their emotions and focus for a few weeks what is happening in a very volatile market.

There are rarely opportunities such as the past few months and likely in the immediate future to do so well. If the word 'profit' gives a problem any gains can be donated to charity.

CM44 793, I hope your wife recovers fully and goes on for a good many more years.

I've just recently had an umbilical hernia fixed by the nhs. I was in an out in 6 hours after a general. I met with 19 nhs staff altogether, each one of them exceptional and caring, from the initial receptionist to the consultant who operated (a lady from Iraq or similar) to the anaesthetist (a 25ish irish beauty who I spoke to at length) to the nurses who took blood, brought me gowns etc, to the helper who brougth me tea and sandwiches afterwards. The total service could not have been bettered by any private hospital. What would have been better I expect going private were the patients - the behaviour of a small few was terrible, totally unappreciative and very quick to complain when she could only have one sandwich when she demanded (and eventually got) two (the nurse explained that only one sandwich was made for each day patient so there weren't any spares, so presumably the last patient had to do without).

I don't know whether i'm just lucky, but the 3 or 4 times i'v needed the nhs in my life they've always been fantastic.

Why should I need to harm people? Never touch anyone. It seems to me that the old farts and society are professionals at harming themselves - they don't need my help. ;)

I discuss this with my dad and he agrees his generation are the dregs of society.

Time is my weapon.

Filter me. Great. What do I care?

Remember you can't call for a priest when your death rattle arrives, you are an atheist!

Bye bye old fart!
