06/3/2019 11:34 | The English language has yet to invent the words to describe how uniquely incompetent Theresa May's Brexit negotiating strategy has been, as well as how uniquely incapable she is of understanding just how bad is the Withdrawal Agreement (WA) and Political Declaration approved by EU leaders on 25 November 2018. David Blake | k38

06/3/2019 11:09 | Christine Lagarde, (warning..)The head of the International Monetary Fund, has warned that the EU could be destroyed if the rich countries in the north are dragged down by those struggling in the south. Economic growth needed to be spread more broadly to 'help restore faith in the European Project. | k38

06/3/2019 09:38 | pete: I do not recall there being a "remainer shower" before DC thought up the wizzo wheeze to have a Referendum. That whole process then engendered a life of its own to all our detriments. Sadly the rump of Tories who were always anti-European Union gained sway by fair means or foul - it remains to be seen. However I am increasingly convinced that the outcome will be more negative than positive for our citizens. | bbalanjones

06/3/2019 09:05 | 17+ MILLION VOTED TO LEAVE 17 million is a big political movement and has significant purchasing power. Time to start to think about using this. And there are Dutch bulbs to think about. Dutch Tulips REALLY THINK HARD BEFORE BUYING ANYTHING from EUSSR Spanish holiday. Irish holiday. French wine. Belgian chocolate. Think. Etc The People, at least 17 million can act as well as Parliament. People. Gloves off. Time to BOYCOTT the EU. The Elite have crushed and twisted and swindled our Democracy. But the People have teeth too and it is time to bare them, This 'Withdrawal Agreement' cobbled together by May and a two-faced Conservative Party is trying to fob off the The Referendum Result and sell this 'agreement' with Fear. But in effect it is REMAIN all dressed up in new clothing and method. This will never be harmonious, and now may be the time to consider various campaigns such as whether to buy German cars for example. 17 million voted against staying in the EU. That is a lot of buying power. Think before buy now. Campaign. The politicians have not listened. The Economic War. THE PEOPLE RULE OK! German cars and apes German cars unfinished business And there is the consideration of Continental European wine. Many fine and exciting wines found outside Europe. The EUSSR has stated publicly it wants to HURT the UK. We too can HURT the EUSSR too, particularly Germany and Vichy France. Spanish holiday. Irish holiday. French wine. Belgian chocolate. Think. The People can vote and not be listened to. BUT THE PEOPLE CAN ACT . Think before buying from the EUSSR Pass it on. BOYCOTT the EUSSR. Tusck wants us to go to Hell – the very Gestapo and Mafia thinking that still lies at the heart of the EUSSR Pass it on. | ![]() xxxxxy

06/3/2019 08:49 | grahamite25 Mar '19 - 16:19 - 248455 of 248528 0 3 0 bbalanjones, I agree with you that the people cannot ever rule, not in an organization larger than a Greek city state. What the people can expect is direct access to people who themselves have access to the seat of power - that is, access to MPs who can make representations to ministries with the power to say ay or nay. This we have lost with the EU. Power is completely insulated from the people and unresponsive to them. g2: It would be nice to have reasoned debate as opposed to the rabid polemic that now suffuses this thread. I too have some sympathy with your views regarding the perceived 'broken chain' of access to Power for the common voter. Where I differ from that point of view is that OUR representatives of all stripes have been integral in the evolving of the status quo for 40 odd years. Change is needed not abdication. | bbalanjones
