Germany is giving the UK a taste of things to come.
Germany knows that B.Ae and Rolls Royce and jobs will be damaged in the UK by an arms ban.

First they sign a free trade deal with Japan that encourages Japanese car makers to quit the UK. Access to the EU. tariff free from Japan.

Brexit nutters don't mind a hard Brexit because it will not affect them personally.
But this game has hardly got started yet.

If the EU.offer a delay it will be a long one.
Don't waste time arguing, they have the power."

One can sense your salivating delight at possible hardship for BAe's / Rolls employees arisign from such.

Not a very pleasant characteristic.

FYI

Pan EU defence projects are on the wane.
Eurofighter is old tech.

Future will see German defence manufacturers replaced with alternative options - of which there are plenty.

After all, these PAN European defence projects are "political" led more so than anything else.

Another idiot that thinks there is a Hard Brexit I see..There is only BRexit or some form of Remain. Stop being deceitful.

Assuming this May deal gets through, which it probably will, then the fun, difficult bits start.
Negotiating a free trade deal with the EU.

They will dig in on certain principles because from now on we shall be competitors.
Interesting to see how nasty things get.

They are bigger and stronger than us, hope they don't bully us into submission as they have on the backstop.
It is a divorce, but one that the UK wanted and one that the EU. did not want.
But it was only old geezers that made it happen, young dynamic people were pro EU.

Beware an EU. scorned.

M4, Reuter's story:"Germany's latest restrictions on arms exports risk making Berlin a pariah in Europe's defense industry, threatening future collaboration on weapons development and its own ambitions to foster a common European defense policy.Germany's decision to unilaterally halt all shipments of military equipment to Saudi Arabia in November after the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi has brought long-standing differences between Berlin and its European partners over arms controls to a tipping point."

Agree with you on that last post. I detest morons who think for some unknown reason they have the mandate to be a thread's moderator and quash free-speech. The same idiots would lambast China for such action.

"basically live in a country where there's no community spirit as it's shaft thy neighbour as opposed to love thy neighbour."

Clearly you've never lived in USA.

Plenty of community spirit inclined places through the states of the US.

But you wont find them with your prejudice.

Comment from FT ref Hammond's no No-Deal bribe:

I’m considering burning down my house later this month. However, if I don’t, I’m looking forward to how I might spend my unburnt dwelling dividend.

Back to business for a moment, Norman Smith just said he expects the MV next Tuesday, not this week. That ties in with the notion that Cox is making no real headway so far.
