careful...I and millions of others have voted. Accept it, it is called Democracy. If we just walked, it might upset Europe, but we will have done something positive and shown strength.

I will refuse to vote in a second referendum and I will not vote in a GE for any party who tries to force one. IMO we will have a civil war on our hands.

Second referendum remainers are just too stupid to realise that Europe is intent on punishing the UK because it will bolster others to exit. The following countries all have over 50% wanting to split from the European Union...Austria, Italy, France, Hungary, Poland, the Netherlands. Their Euro reps are quivering that if the UK prospers outside the EU, those countries will demnd a referendum starting with France.

Also, if we stay in by any method, just say goodbye to the UK ever being a force any more. Not leaving now, is the worst thing that could happen. We will have been well and truly whipped.

We see the mettle of weak Remoaners daily on this board, they may well have been born here, but they show us as a weak insipid follow the EU leader lickspittles.

I believe in this country, Europe in it's present form is the entity breaking apart in front of you, open your starry eyes.

For all those who died to give us this Democracy, we leave ASAP.

listening to how we are polarised on this thread, I wonder how this can be resolved.
It looks hopeless.

All remainers at heart would wish the UK to stand alone and to be totally independent of the EU.
And all Brexiteers would hesitate if they thought that the wealth, prosperity and futures of their own families would deteriorate if we left the EU.

It is about time we all stopped making the same arguments for and against that we have made one hundred times before.

What is the next step?

Do you really know what WTO would mean?
In relation to the EU. that is.
Only last week the WTO said that rising tariffs are a threat to World trade.

Jaguar Land Rover, one of the UK's biggest employers said after a long study, that WTO would be a disaster for them and cost billions. Jobs would be lost.

You cannot argue that big business is project scare. From Scottish whisky to aerospace to finance these are the big hitters and they are worried.

The are are few, Dyson for example, makes his stuff in Malaysia and sells in the UK, does well in USA, China, and targets India. He does poorly in the EU. and is often in dispute with the eu. courts. Dyson would love a collapsed £.
Tim martin of Weatherspoon runs pubs.
JCB does well outside of the EU.

but these are small and insignificant with their whole operations not the slightest blip compared with the huge industries that are worried.

To stop referenda there needs to be a parliamentary act.
Say 75% in the house must vote for one.
Just like the fixed term parliament act.
A similar number required to impeach a US president.

Referenda are not the British way.
Just a popularity competition.

Dread to think what referenda Corbyn could dream up if he comes to power.
Use your imagination.

I know Brexiteers want their result to be for all time, but this is serious stuff.
A second referendum, would be final, we know the risks now.

Every argument for and against has been flogged to death.

The map shows the same picture as when I commented before - the concentrations are around The Wash, Kent and The Isle of Wight. The reasons for Kent are obvious enough, the other two I'm not so sure about.

I signed that petition just over an hour ago and it was 82,886....looked a moment ago it is now past 84,406 and growing.

But I reckon a lot who would sign it, don't know about it.

The second referendum could only achieve something if the turnover was large, greater than last times 72%, and the result was the same as before...

If the result were the same we know for sure that would achieve nothing. By their conduct over the last 2 years the remainers have made it crystal clear they care nothing for what the people think.

or, A much lager remain vote with a much wider margin of victory would also make it acceptable.

What are the odds, do you think, the figures would change significantly, to say 55:45 (either way)? It's not a bet I'd take. And even if it did happen you'd still have a huge disgruntled minority.

It should be made final by act of parliament, no more referenda on this topic, from now on parliament decides as in the past.

No Parliament can bind its successor.

We would all have to accept the second result, although you can never placate or satisfy dedicated Brexiteers.

The ONLY people who have shown, and proved, that they can never be placated or satisfied, are the remoaners.
