04/12/2018 16:32 | I doubt it, there would be a few neds up in the North of England going "tonto", burning a few cars, tanning a few shop windows etc, but really just the same type of reaction to an English football match. As for the real world, the markets and sterling would both get a huge boost and we'd all live happily ever after, with the exception of the few ending up with ASBO's and Electronic tags........ | ladeside
04/12/2018 16:20 | They would be blood on the streets if Brexit cancelled. | montyhedge
04/12/2018 16:12 | The BBC has officially given up on a Brexit debate on Sunday. Not expected it will happen on ITV either. Personally, I didn't think that the proposal was ever appropriate. | polar fox
04/12/2018 16:10 | Note that in many countries nationalists got higher scores in EU Parliamentary elections. Think I've made my point sufficiently. | poikka
04/12/2018 16:08 | Rise of Nationalism Across Europe. For Aceuk. | poikka
04/12/2018 16:08 | rburtn - plenty of insight there; I enjoyed the read. Following the contempt debate that is ongoing now - what a situation for the parliament to have created. Just when it can't get worse it does. | alphorn
04/12/2018 15:59 | Did Mrs May ever, at any point, believe in her preposterous "deal"? Or was it deliberately concocted to the intent it would unravel slowly and painfully until all could see it was a non-starter? | grahamite2
04/12/2018 15:56 | The market is sleepwalking into Brexit, the brown stuff about to hit the fan. | montyhedge
04/12/2018 15:56 | Being completely honest, I'd actually never heard one person utter a word about the EU up until Cameron offered the referendum, maybe that's just us up here in Scotland, but seriously, nobody that I know cared one way or another. | ladeside
04/12/2018 15:50 | It is becoming increasingly clear to me that the Brexiteers were really all about market manipulation. They didn't expect to win, they had no plan, not seeming to understand, or have any experience of the ramifications of trade deals and they didn't anticipate the treaty, guaranteed by the USA, to end the civil war in Northern Ireland. They assumed any trade deal, wherever or with whomsoever it was conducted would be on their terms. Even a group, 'which needed us more than we them' has played hardball to a backgound whimper of 'they are punishing us'. What a bunch of incompetent but greedy clowns. Project fear - an epithet constructed by the Brexiteers - was all about stampeding investors, who have held their nerve, never believing such stupidity would ever come to pass. The winners have been the news media who relish conflict as a means for selling their wares. And it has exposed an underbelly of the British public that many of us never imagine existed. Let's hope that the accidental crashing out never happens but it's obviously in the interests of some to keep it alive as a possibility. | rburtn
04/12/2018 15:10 | What an idiot. I don't filter you just for entertainment. | alphorn
04/12/2018 15:07 | "I may never buy any more shares, I do not think my mind can take the stress of it all". Did I say that, can't remember, not important to anyone with a brain! But nice to know that you can find the time to hang on to every word in your busy FX trading. You are fixated with me being other posters. Why not accuse me of being Stoned, Cheshire and all the others who think you are a fake What a plonker........pleas ROFLMAO | exlogicalad
04/12/2018 15:06 | Anyone think this terrible Brexit deal is a way back to revoking article 50? Seems like it's being engineered that way. | smurfy2001
04/12/2018 14:48 | Jackinabox/Devoid - Well, that did not take long! You are a fool today - and a fool tomorrow. Still investing after your earlier experiences,or just writing vitriol about other posters? Worth a requote: "I may never buy any more shares, I do not think my mind can take the stress of it all". | alphorn
04/12/2018 14:34 | Poikka 4 Dec '18 - 12:06 - 238450 of 238468 I see that Sweden's still without a government. The Sweden Democrats representing over 18% of the public are unhappy with the effects of the EU's non-policy on migration; so are a helluva lot more, I'd guess, but the public are understandably unwilling to support an anti-immigration party with all the assumed baggage that goes with such a party. This picture is replicated across Europe, and won't go away. Trouble is, most EU countries are helpless to stem the flow of economic migrants, and Brussels is too lethargic, fat and wealthy to give a toss. Really - you are up to speed on the general view of all peoples across Europe? Has that anything to do with this thread in UK investment terms or Brexit? | aceuk
04/12/2018 14:33 | Professor Paul Workman says innovative cancer treatments could be readily available for UK patients after Brexit as the European Medicines Agency has caused major delays | patientcapital
04/12/2018 14:25 | Min., we should indeed revoke Article 50. Following that we should immediately do what we ought to have down from day 1. Trigger it again clearly stating that we would be preparing to exit on WTO terms at a stated future date. Everyone would then know the situation but it would give the EU the chance to offer anything of mutual benefit only without having the whip hand which they now do. | patientcapital
04/12/2018 13:27 | Alp. I don't know about the rest, but France and Spain have arrangements that allow employers to pick up and put down workers whenever they like. You can call these contracts whatever you like, but they are temporary in nature and pay. | maxk
04/12/2018 13:25 | A coalition maybe more likely driven by non extremists. | alphorn
04/12/2018 13:22 | The lesser spotted Milibandus is owned body and soul by Soros. So yes, you could see an even Nu-er Labour party spring up..no shortage of funds. | maxk
04/12/2018 13:18 | There's no doubt that it's all being carefully choreographed, irrespective of whether you're for or against. I've already told you my theory. In will ride David Miliband and his new centrist party to the rescue, untainted by Brexit incompetence and backed by former political big hitters such as Blair, Brown & Mandelson, we'll then get Carney on board along with all the big business interests and the media moguls and of course by that point it will be a done deal. Halt article 50 and return to the status quo where we'll all live happily ever after as part of the "adored" EU........ | ladeside
04/12/2018 13:08 | g - or should we just believe the theatre that fills threads like this one? ;))) ……… | alphorn |
