27/9/2024 06:26 | You should visit Penang in Malaysia. Wonderful beaches, fabulous food, great infrastructure and shopping malls, gyms, lovely people, a harbour for the rich super yacht owners - but generally very cheap living. Very very low crime rate too. | jordaggy
26/9/2024 20:51 | Military operation in Ukraine 25 Sep, 09:34 Russian missile strike hits Ukrainian hardware in Zaporozhye — politician According to Vladimir Rogov, the attack occurred right at the moment the equipment was being unloaded MELITOPOL, September 25. /TASS/. A Russian missile strike hit several dozen Ukrainian pieces of hardware as they were being unloaded from a train in one of the shops of the Zaporozhstal plant in the Kiev-controlled city of Zaporozhye, Vladimir Rogov, the chairman of the commission on sovereignty, patriotic projects and support for veterans of the Russian Civic Chamber, told TASS. "An Iskander struck the Zaporozhstal metal processing shop just as a train from Odessa was unloading Ukrainian military hardware, including tanks, MLRS, and self-propelled artillery. The attack occurred right at the moment the equipment was being unloaded. For about 40 minutes, there were repeated detonations, resulting in dozens of pieces of enemy hardware being damaged," Rogov said. According to him, the plant's workshop had long been used as a logistics center. "There are numerous exits from Zaporozhstal, which facilitated the covert removal of equipment, including tanks, at night. Such a strike will undoubtedly impact the operational situation along the front line, even if it only temporarily disrupts the transfer of Ukrainian hardware and ammunition," the agency's source said. | stonedyou

26/9/2024 18:21 | Madsen Pirie, president of the Adam Smith Institue, said:In Cloud Cuckoo Land, people suppose that if you tax rich people who have chosen to reside there and invest and spend some of their wealth there, you can tax them on their worldwide earnings as well as their domestic ones and they will meekly pay up with a sorrowful sigh.In the real world they put on their marching boots and move to tax-friendlier climes. This is already happening. People I speak to tell me they are leaving. Not a penny will be added to Treasury coffers from this ill-advised move. Instead we will lose some of the wealth and talent that enriches us.His comments come after reports that officials at the Treasury fear that Labour's plans to tax non-doms could raise no extra funds...Daily Telegraph | xxxxxy
