Russian Army Destroyed Ukrainian Up-Armored Abrams Tank In Donetsk (Videos)

Support SouthFront

The Russian military has destroyed yet another American-made M1A1 SA Abrams main battle tank of Kiev forces in the Donetsk direction.

The tank, which was upgraded in Ukraine with a cage armor and explosive reactive armor blocks, was targeted near the settlement of Pokrovsk to the northwest of the city of Avdeeva. It is unclear how exactly the tank was destroyed, but it is very possible that it was hit by multiple rocket-propelled rockets fired by Russian troops from a close range. Videos showing the burned out tank were posted to social networks on August 21.

Ukraine received 31 Abrams from the United States over the past year. The total cost of the Abrams can vary, and can be over $10 million per a single tank when including training and sustainment. Around a half of the tanks have already been destroyed or damaged.

While all the documented losses so far have been near Avdeevka, Russian media reported on August 22 that an Abrams was destroyed in Kursk. This is yet to be confirmed, however. Kiev forces have been attacking the Russian region for the last few weeks.

A report by CNN from earlier this year acknowledged that the tank performed poorly in Ukraine and revealed that Kiev forces have been struggling just to keep their remaining Abrams operational.

The failure of the Abrams in Ukraine was not surprising as the tank suffered serious losses in Iraq and Yemen before. However, this was without a doubt embarrassing for both the U.S. and the Kiev regime who promoted the tank as a game changing weapon.

Labour will have to take on the public sector workers at some point.

One of Thatchers masterstrokes was to freeze the funds of any union that disobeyed the new union laws.
The fat cat trade union leaders, or any union employee, could not be paid.
It was very effective.

Some strikes will have to be made illegal as they would be in the armed forces. We cannot go on like this.

They had to cave in this time, but that will not happen again.

Bangkok is bonkers, and should be on anyone's bucket list (just for a holiday) a right attack on your senses. Been to Koh Samui and enjoyed that, wonderful people brainwashed by a joyful passive culture, terrible poverty.

To many Chinese tourists, they are rude and arrogant to the locals, and eat like pigs.

Great memory's of flying around on a Scooter, no helmet, just T shirt and flip flops!!!

Telegraph discussed a wealth tax yesterday.
The most tempting target of all, including a mansion tax.

It makes sense, always seems odd that property was undertaxed.
We got rich by just owning a house and doing nothing productive.

Tax has to raised from somewhere.
How it would kill the top end of the market.

MM2 - Thailand...and yes, it has its political issues, but people are happy here. Thai people are very proud of their culture...it's a different world here, like going back in time, simple, basic, honest, just as long as you avoid BKK, Phuket and Pattaya.

and just to support my view of em - I just read that the corrupt toss pot Jenrick says he would be delighted to welcome the useless barm pot Fatso into his cabinet. There really is no hope for em. They would do ANYTHING for power - except whats right for the country if that means having to stick to principles and losing popularity. I suppose the problem for the Tories is they dont have any conservatives and certainly non of any merit and with true leadership quality

Three counterattacks of Ukrainian army disrupted in Avdeyevka direction

"The crew of the newest engineering system of remote mining "Zemledeliye" remotely mined the approaches to the positions of Russian troops, disrupting three counterattacks of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Avdeyevka direction," the Russian Defense Ministry reported

MOSCOW, August 21. /TASS/. Three counterattacks of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Avdeyevka direction were disrupted with the help of the newest minelaying system Zemledeliye, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"The crew of the newest engineering system of remote mining "Zemledeliye" (Russian for - agriculture - TASS) of the Battlegroup Center remotely mined the approaches to the positions of Russian troops, disrupting three counterattacks of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Avdeyevka direction," the report says.

The commander of controlled mining platoon with the call sign Otlichnik, said that his unit took part in the liberation of the settlements of Avdeyevka, Berdychi, Orlovka, Tonenkoye, Ocheretino.

"[The enemy’s] infantry, <…> as well as armored and combat equipment of the enemy were blown up on our barriers. We managed to hit and disable a Leopard, five M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, enemy armored personnel carriers of foreign manufacture, the Marder infantry fighting vehicle, such vehicles as the MaxxPro, and actually the classics - these are infantry fighting vehicles, T-64BV and T-72 tanks," he said.

"Thanks to programmable ammunition, Zemledeliye [system] can cover an area the size of several football fields with mines in a matter of minutes. At the same time, the explosive devices are capable of self-destructing or deactivating at a set time," the ministry said.
