"Trials of a Covid-19 vaccine being developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University will resume after being paused due to a reported side effect in a patient in the UK."

Makes you wonder why they bother, reading some of the comments here.

With almost Zero percent interest rates very difficult for retail banks to make profits therefore I can see Lloyds share price falling to as low as 20p.

A few years back, the government said that it wanted everybody to have bank accounts and sadly these everybodies are mostly loss making.

A friends of mine who use to work for a bank said in 1981 when he first joined the bank 60% of customers were profitable, 20% break even & 20% loss making while today 60% of customers of retail banks makes a loss on, 20% break even and only 20% the banks make a profit from.

I am soory to hear that..but in reality ..what we are finding now people with stage 4 cancer...nothing could be done..due to wrong policy we barred them from coming to hospital hence missed the chance to diagnose at early stage..my honest confession..majory who were killed ..didnt havr any fare chance in first 3 months..just were allowed to die due to policy makers.. as soon as virus positive stopped the clock...thrir primary cause of admission wasnt addressed

It's not just about dying from Covid, I know of 2 women just 40 years old who are still suffering debilitating effects 5 months on.

It's not just the dying, it's the numbers who are being hospitalised - enough to prevent the treatment of others suffering from different complaints. I have a daughter whose operation has been put back months because of overcrowding, resulting in her suffering frequent agonising pain and ambulance call-out to take her to hospital.

The chances of contracting the virus would be much worse if it hadn't been for lock-down, with many more suffering from covid effects and delayed treatment for other complaints.

It's up to Joe Public to be sensible until a vaccine is available; it doesn't take much.

William Hewitt12 Sep 2020 2:47PM@Michael Simpson Hello there Michael !I pulled the lastest (yesterday) Infection fatality rate figures for the virus from further down in the comments, in case you missed them earlier.0-19 years: 0.0003%20-49 years: 0.02%50-69 years: 0.5%70+ years: 5.44%I'm interested in your assessment of these, and the level of risk that they illustrate for different age demographics.I think it is important that people like your good self take a hard look at these numbers and work out what they are telling us, in MASSIVE, FLASHING, GREEN, NEON.cheers... Daily Telegraph... Think overall about the same odds of dying when driving.
