According to C4 Dispatches last night it seems we have Macron to thank for government eventually taking some form of proper lockdown action. He called Boris threatening to close down the borders - you know, those borders we were taking back control of.

Rotten and incompetent government with our serious problems of economic destruction and a persistent virus to be compounded with the morons' belief Hard-Brexit is going to help us.

Especially for those unwavering supporters of a rotten Government led by BoJo, please watch this short report:

Then carefully reconsider.

Large numbers of staff could have been unknowingly spreading coronavirus through care homes, according to the UK's largest charitable care home provider.

Data from MHA shows 42% of its staff members who recently tested positive were not displaying symptoms.

Nearly 45% of residents who had a positive test were also asymptomatic.

MHA operates in England, Scotland and Wales and has fully tested staff and residents in 86 of its 90 homes so far.

A Department for Health and Social Care spokesperson said: "Our priority is to ensure care workers and those receiving care are protected, and the latest statistics show over 60% of care homes have had no outbreak at all.

"We've set out a comprehensive support package for residents and staff, including a £600m infection control fund, testing regardless of whether you have symptoms, and a named clinical lead to support every care home.

"We recognise more must continue to be done, and have made £3.2bn available to local authorities to address additional pressures from coronavirus."

In total, 7% of MHA staff and 13% of residents received a positive test result.

Routine testing is not yet under way.

That's where I heard it Aljm.

UV light is known to destroy this virus.

Technology has advanced massively, particularly medical tech..
Who's to know what we can actually do.

" using micro UV emitters for internal use for killing the Virus inside the lungs, we already have cameras small enough for internal examinations, no reason this could not be done....."

Presumably this is what Trump was talking about when the MSM lambasted him for being ridiculous.

There lies the problem, my Mrs tried one that is ordinary and couldnt do with it, she said she felt she was being suffocate. I have seen folk who just have there mouth covered probably for the same reason. Mrs said that's all she could probably manage.
I told her she would probably be better off screwing it up and shoving it in her gob.
I got a slap for my suggestion.

It is all very well staff working from home...but how does the Data Protection Act come into play...so your personal details could be floating around at somebody else's home...and others can look in...I think it is very dangerous...

UV light is very effective for killing micros , i use it at home, nothing survives. there was a clever idea being thrown about medically, using micro UV emitters for internal use for killing the Virus inside the lungs, we already have cameras small enough for internal examinations, no reason this could not be done.....

I Aljm,

Breathing through them gets harder as the particle filter cloggs up. Once you cant breathe through them, its time to change them. Same for any particle filter.
Have to just suck up the heavier breathing I'm afraid. :)

Best way to "clean" these filters for reuse..

Stick em in the SUN. Or use UV light bulbs...A stink of UV light kills the virus.

Weird times:

-Unelected official in 10 Downing St running Government.

-Government potentially offering three million immigrants option to live in UK.

-50,000 custom officials being employed.

Wasn't Brexit all about:

-Taking back sovereignty from unelected bureaucrats.

-Reducing immigration.

-Cutting red tape."

Is this thread in some sort of bubble or denial?

Gecko, think we are basically on the same lines, if N95's do the job, stick with those, rather than possibly having multiple types that do the same job, so yes i agree.

The one thing wifey says and her colleagues agree, is those masks are fairly hard to breathe through over a lengthy time period, so i could see people taking them off and on a lot more, so facial contact might be an issue.

On a more serious note a few years ago there was a big backlash against immigration. Today, if you read the DM public comments it is the 'right thing' to welcome people from HK. How views can change.

Nothing as fickle as people".

You will see - pure focus on immigration per se.

Apart from Cheshire the other responders here have reading issues.
