04/6/2020 09:13 | Spot on Graham. As to how many people is enough. The water shortages alone that are being touted to push hose pipe bans should tell you. Simply too many people making demands on the water supply, and the rest of the infrastructure. Time to start deporting those who should not be here in addition to foreign criminals, and deterring those seeking to enter illegally every day. | geckotheglorious
04/6/2020 09:11 | from what i understand the virus is @ 2 microns in size, only (95 spec ones are capable of filtering it ), the pores in most of the other masks allow that size particles to pass straight through, | aljm

04/6/2020 09:07 | Aljm, Post 10173 "Gecko, Wife is a nurse with over 30 yrs , she is currently working with Covid patients, the ONLY masks they are allowed to use are 95 Spec, care to enlighten me where she, and the specialists are wrong ?" The fact they are ONLY allowed to wear N95 is neither here nor there. I've come across a fair few nurses in my time so I'll be placing my faith in a CBRN/PPE specialist over a nurse thank you very much. She will be doing as you has been told - as you confirm. Which part of what I wrote are you disputing? That only some masks work, and some, as you claim, don't? It depends on the mask. And it depends on whether you are protecting everyone from the wearer, or the wearer from everyone. As I outlined. Not sure what your problem is. Ask any CBRN specialist. They'll be able to confirm what I written. I have given you the masks in order of effectiveness. An Aviva 40/50 with a suitable particle filter is far superior to a N95. They cost about £20-25 for mask, £6 for the filter. And they are all about protecting the wearer from everyone else. I have one myself. There is also an exhale valve which exports the wearers breathe unfiltered. | geckotheglorious
04/6/2020 09:03 | hope all these rioters do get it, trouble is they are all young and healthy, they probably wont even realise they have it, it certainly will not kill them, we all had it, wife being a nurse made us high risk, son threw it off in 3 days (11) i threw it off in @ 5 days, it was nothing, BUT to the wrong person it could be far more of a problem. | aljm
04/6/2020 09:00 | The Bank of England will gather more information from banks on their likely losses on loans due to the pandemic, its deputy governor Sam Woods said on Thursday. The BoE's Prudential Regulation Authority will gather the data ahead of banks' second quarter earnings to compare the timing and amount of losses with those it modelled last month. "This information will enable us to identify any significant outliers and to further refine our estimates for future capital exercises," Woods said in a letter to banks. Britain is facing its worst recession in 300 years due to a national lockdown that has shuttered businesses and furloughed millions of employees, with losses on loans to companies set to rocket. The Bank estimated last month that loan losses at banks could reach 80 billion pounds by the end of 2021, but that lenders are robust enough to maintain the flow of credit to companies and households. The BoE has already issued guidance on how banks can take into account government relief measures such as loans and repayment holidays on mortgages when calculating expected losses and how much capital should be set aside to cover them. On Thursday, Woods set out further guidance on how banks should assess the capital and accounting treatment for the three-month holiday on mortagage payments that end this month in some cases ahead of second quarter earnings statements. 04/6/2020 08:59 | Covid19 is a hoax. More riots, police with no masks, protesters no mask and we're in lockdown. It's a absolute fake.https://www.rt. | ball deap
04/6/2020 08:58 | Wllmerk, Perhaps they don't care if all these disruptive Bame's get infected??? Highly unlikely they are also taking Vitamin D supplements Cull the herd of trouble makers so to speak. Surely Govts wouldnt be that cynical. Such protesters are also likely to be society's spongers, layabouts, and low productivity workers so wont be missed either. Always method to the madness. | geckotheglorious
04/6/2020 08:57 | Chav, i agree, but they really dont move it enough to make trading it worthwhile for me.... | aljm
04/6/2020 08:56 | Dr Biotech post 10165 Yes agree, I've yet to see much evidence from Mr Elbe on anything. Disagree on the mask front though. Once again it depends on the mask you wear. That is also why people wear goggles/those face shields because everyone realises how often we touch our faces in an average day. Some masks filter the virus, some filter what the wearer exhales so your claim they're not so good from stopping others infecting you doesn't hold. As the Dr Campbell video I linked yesterday also illustrates. Wearing a simple Surgical mask reduces the rate of infection by a considerable amount. Wearing a proper half face mask with a filter isnt even better and offers more protection from infection. See below for indisputable facts a) Surgical masks, the kind you see Doctors/Nurses/Denti b) N95 masks protect the USER from everyone around you. c) Aviva 40/Aviva 50 style half face mask (requiring filters) protect the USER,but not those around you as the wearer exhales through a filter port...Inhaling goes via a filter. Exhaling doesnt. So if you infected, you will breathe out your infection. d) Any Army surplus mask, even an old Avon S6 will work AS LONG AS it has a modern fully working particle filter or above added to it. | geckotheglorious

04/6/2020 08:52 | Aljm, Post 10164 "only a very specific mask works, N95/F95 spec, the rest do not. these people using home made masks or non spec ones, are actually putting themselves in more risk as they have confidence in something that will not stop transfer" Not strictly true in the case of the former you open with, but spot on regarding home made masks. a) Surgical masks, the kind you see Doctors/Nurses/Denti b) N95 masks protect the USER from everyone around you. c) Aviva 40/Aviva 50 style half face mask (requiring filters) protect the USER,but not those around you as the wearer exhales through a filter port...Inhaling goes via a filter. 04/6/2020 08:23 | How the UK’s fishing fleet has been filleted by the EU I don't blame the EU for this, any more than I blame immigrants for coming here in search of a better life. In both cases they are just pursuing their own best interests, as any of us would do. The people to blame are the UK politicians and officials who allowed these things. They should be strung up. | grahamite2
