AlpYou have to admit it , especially now with the Coronavirus, Brussels has nothing to offer anymore..Just look what our government has to offer so far to the economy and to workers. I've been watching the news , not the useless BBC, and I hear nothing about giving an economic helping hand right NOW to Italian's neither to the rest of Europe. I guess they need time to print euro.

It does make you wonder how the government is going to fire up the economy the way they said they were going to now and level up. I think a lot of those well meant promises will go on the back burner for quite some time. I think that HS2 should be the first to go and connect up the north with the north first. By the time that's up and running no one will be able to afford a ticket anyway. It never was viable imo.

I'm with K38 on this:

"Doesn't have to be. Unless... people don't follow the rules. By not doing so it will get worse!"

I really cannot recall, in all the 'flu seasons that we've had, so much emphasis on how to avoid 'flu as we're now getting on how to avoid Coronavirus. That being the case, and acknowledging the contagiousness of the present virus, you'd think that there'd be fewer cases.

Maybe the instructions should be advertised even wider, along with matters such as how long the virus stays active on surfaces.

A tip, boys and girls, if you catch it, gargle with whisky, rum or gin - and then swallow :)

Just three.. let's hope that's the real number. If so and if continue to the next week thesame low there is a chance of the virus dying out.

gbh2 : BE CAREFUL ...I think the dividend will most definitely be pulled. If so that might even give the share price a boost.

Well, reality is that Brexit has discouraged many EU nurses from staying/coming into this country at exactly the wrong time when we need them most.

Deaths will happen partly because of Brexit, for sure.

You have blood on your hands Brexiters, well done!

Martin Hainsworth21 Mar 2020 10:14AM@Hugh Camus @Martin HainsworthI'm 71 with bronchiectasis. I am also a retired bank manager so know a bit about stats and finance. The world managed a loss of 1 million in Hong Kong flu which barely registers in living memory. I can not predict how many people will die from this virus but I am pretty sure it will not be as many as from the financial sh*tstorm which is heading towards us.

The situation that suggests we will be like Italy have already been cast over two weeks ago because of incubation and Boris's ill-fated original policy and his dither and delay.

London will be like North Italy in two weeks, for sure.
