had to laugh at one of the presenters on TV last night, he was talking to someone
high up in the NHS the presenter was trying to ramp up the anxiety, he said
to the NHS official " how are the hospitals managing to cope" the NHS official
looked puzzled, and replied we only have a handful of intensive care corona virus patients....

Fascinating & Frightening too.

Statistically we are seeing panic at sub 500 cases in UK. We will be following Italy soon in thousands. This gives logistical problems for firms, not everyone can work from home. Self-Employed wont go to sign-on, they will live on savings or credit. Demand is going to suffer.

"Who will be the first to get it" is being spoken about in offices and factories.

Its a matter of time.

Hi, does anybody know the low Lloyds hit during the Greek Crisis?

Was it something like 34p? I can't remember if it went under 30p?

Just have a feeling this target could be re-tested.

'thinking the bottom was reached'. Bad as this is it's also fascinating watching it and wondering when and where the bottom will eventually be. Buyers and sellers I would imagine are drying up.

China and Iran figures under reported by who knows how much.
Add a "Zero" to their numbers for starters imo.

Why else would China risk economic implosion by quarantining 750 million people just for 81,000 cases and 3100 odd deaths???

Look at what "THEY DO" not what "They SAY"

But 500 is not impacting business, but it will when 50000+

Normal Flu lasts 3-4mth period, this is predicted to go on and on until next winter.

Logistical issues exist for many companies. Staff mass illness etc.

I don't buy into people saying its over exaggerated.

Some statistic. Many more than tested may have this virus. Nevertheless looking at UK population it appears about 8 have died out of 60 million. Most seem to live on. That statistic says a lot. A massive recovery is coming in my opinion.

Odd how (to date) we've not recorded any cases as being serious, we miss that stage and leap straight to Dead.

A Brief Time Line Of COVID-19 In Italy
In order to see how the virus progressed, I have recreated a brief timeline of Covid-19 spread in Italy.

January 30, 2020: Two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Italy reported among Chinese tourists. All flights to China are suspended.

February 24, 2020: Total confirmed cases 229 and 6 fatalities.

March 8, 2020: 16 million people under lockdown in the red zone. Confirmed cases jump 1,300 and total 6, 387 and deaths rise from 133 to 366.

March 9, 2020: All of Italy is on lockdown. Quarantines are being enforced and those that break it are subject to criminal charges.

Prisons are the scene of many riots after prisoners learn that they will not be allowed visitors. They are fearful that they will have no protection from the virus and no help.

March 10, 2020: 10,149 confirmed cases and 631 deaths so far.

After doing this research it is clear that it follows what Chris Martenson over at Peak Prosperity has been telling us for ages. With an outbreak like this, it goes, cluster, cluster, cluster, and then BOOM.

mitchy : Looks like my FTSE guesstimate wasn't too far off the mark. I note it dipped below 5500 this morning. 'Keep your temptation level under control' is the advice to myself ! My broker has advised that the view in NY is that the DOW re-valuation is only 'about half way done ' ! LLoyds at 30p inc the dividend is my aim . Limit buy on at that level. Bon chance mon ami .
