Tad DavisonPosted January 31, 2020 at 4:43 pm | PermalinkI keep hearing endless platitudes about the need for this nation to heal itself. We leavers have been lied to and cheated on a grand scale by a duplicitous and largely pro-EU establishment, and I don't think the bitter resentment on our part is going away any time soon. We were victims of some very nasty tricks and had to fight tooth and claw to get where we are now. There's a distinct lack of trust that is now very deep-rooted, but it wasn't always thus, it developed over the years as a reaction to the constant and seemingly inexorable acts of betrayal by politicians and the establishment who tried to deny us the right to self-determination and hence, proper political accountability. That most fervent EU supporter, John Major, used to say he wanted a nation at peace with itself, then caused massive social divisions with Maastricht and his refusal to give the British people a referendum on it. Things never recovered from there on.Once given the opportunity, the people told the elite in no uncertain terms what they wanted, and we are now entering a new phase. But these pro-EU people haven't gone away and will be lurking in the shadows. This is one swamp we still have to drain, and we won't be free from their grasping tentacles for a while yet so we leavers must stay strong and make Brexit work. That effectively kills their argument for good.Given their appalling duplicity, nor to mention their appallingly bad lack of judgement, I wouldn't trust a remainer as far as I could throw them. Even at this late stage, they'll try anything to de-rail the Brexit process because they're sore losers. The price of peace is eternal vigilance.

If this stock didn't have so many muppets buying it just because it's the only brand they know for an ISA, it would be 20p

If you look at the header long term chart it gives opportunity once a year to ride the up move...the rest of time is dead money...unless of course one is playing long and Short...

Anybody who bought around 50p and sold into the rise around 65p would have been very wise...

Just about to take out an awesome red - getting it to the right temperature and conditions. All set for 11.00pm.

I don't find a reason to drink these very often. Tonight's the night.

I have a good memory, you obviously don't. I guess it comes with your age so we can excuse you a little. ;)

You said Lloyds would be 75p by Christmas post the EU referendum. I told this board that for the time being, because of Brexit uncertainty, that Lloyds had reach its current zenith and would trade lower or side-ways, which it has done over the last 3 years.

Yes, you are right, I made losses on CPI and PFG, I also made losses on Kier. That happens with investing. I will not lie, I'm good enough to not have to. ;) I've more than made up for these losses on the rest of my portfolio - which is generally solid. When you have had an investment return over 48,000% spanning active, full-time investing for over two decades I'll regard you as being in a similar league to myself. Sadly, you are not even in the division below.

Now go out and enjoy the old farts' party whilst you've got the chance. ;)

Well I'm off to Tescos to buy a crate of wife beater, and I'll I will be wearing one later with a Union Flag on, on par with a typical Trump Redneck. ( Thought it would be apt as it is from Belgium) Thought Fish and Chips would be good too! Yum Yum. There is no point in fighting this, roll with the winners not the whiners. Suck it up!

all the analysis I have read, onehanded,is that the challenger banks have failed and are doomed because they do not have the necessary scale economies.

Sorry...you are wildly wrong.

By the way Minnie, can I remind you of a few moons ago when I posted that Lloyds would be 75p by Xmas and they were!!!

At the time your Capita were over £10 and are today 145p and your Provident were north of £30 now standing at 450p.

Hello smarty.

Did you realise we can buy goods from all over the world as of now?

What has the €U got to do with it (except hidden taxes)?
