The StandUp4Brexit group says the £272,000 raised will instead go to veterans' charity Help for Heroes.

Fell well short of the £500K mark, just over half way.

What makes it more extraordinary, jacko, is that Cameron made the position very clear to them: I'm desperate, I really need your help. But they weren't the slightest interested.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
grahamite...They knew before Cameron arrived for talks that he was a jelly spine, he later proved it to the World as he resigned his Premiership and scuttled off to civvy street with snidey Osborne in tow. However, the real blame lays with Tony Blair whose ambitions were to be President of Europe opened up the gates to East Europe four years before we were due to allow free movement from the Eastern bloc. Let us all remember when Blair stood up and told us that no more than 30,000 would come, it turned into more than 3 million and that is a conservative estimate. The state of the, Education, NHS and Welfare may tell us just what it has cost. Those who came were young and bred like rabbits, but according to our well fudged figures, they are great for the economy. Try moving two or three extra people into your house and see they are good for your housekeeping.

Isn't it strange when Labour whine about the NHS and poverty, they never mention how we got here.

Last but not least the Euro, it will fall again without doubt. A common currency for the 27...Rich old Germany and poor old Greece enjoy the same currency only a Greek worker has to work ten times as many hours to cop the same as a German worker, that's great social justice.

We are so lucky to be getting out on Friday at 11pm, I know it's only the start, but what I do know is that millions in the EU wish they could do the same.

I suppose the earlier part year will be much bravado and moralising by our friends in Brussels, turning to threats and gnashing of teeth as we decline their invitations to keep giving our money and everything else to the EU master race. I look forward to the hollow threats being de-bunked, and finally a bit of respect once they have reached the acceptance stage.

EU you had a good run, indeed due to our generosity a very good run indeed, such that you came to believe you had more of a right over us than our own government. Well you've had our money, you've indulged your world dominance fantasies, but the purse strings are now shut, and as far as the UK is concerned you can paddle your own canoe.

PS. We will very likely be looking for others to join our European Free Trade Organisation, no membership fee's required, no tanks on your lawns.

Downing Street reveals detailed plans for Brexit Day celebrations

Telegraph Reporters
27 JANUARY 2020 • 1:24PM

Government buildings will be lit up in red, white and blue and Downing St will be illuminated with a Brexit-themed light display to mark the moment Britain leaves the European Union on Friday.

The full plans, released by Downing St officials, reveal that Cabinet ministers will assemble in the north of England for a meeting during the day, before Prime Minister Boris Johnson delivers a special address to the country at 10pm.

Union flags will line Parliament Square and The Mall while government buildings in Whitehall will be lit up throughout the evening.

At 11pm, the hour that Britain officially leaves the European Union, a commemorative light display will commence in Downing St with a countdown clock projected onto Number 10....

They might be a bit more diligent about controlling their borders once they realise that it will no longer be possible to 'fast track' illegal immigrants to the UK.
