Everything going great in the UK !!

"The economy suffered its worst three months for more than a decade after official figures revealed output failed to grow once again in October.

Office for National Statistics (ONS) data showed the economy flatlined month-on-month in October, after two months of declines.

It was the weakest three months since early 2009.

John Hawksworth, chief economist at consultancy PwC, blamed Brexit-related uncertainty for the economy's "loss of momentum".

Professor Costas Milas, of the University of Liverpool's management school, described the figures as "quite poor".

Jack Leslie, economic analyst at the Resolution Foundation, said that the UK's domestic challenges come against a weak global economic outlook for next year.

Separately, the ONS released trade data which showed Britain's goods trade deficit widened by more than expected to nearly £14.5bn in October from £11.5bn in September.

cheshire - replying to you here. Property can go down that is for sure. The UK BES mopped up many repos as an example. I bought a few at the time in London and paid around 50% of what the seller had paid. Over time many assets go up as does inflation.
Many areas of the US have had big property slumps which amplified the inability to pay.

Dead right about the fraud . but the postal workers,as our postie says, do not like Corbyn at all....some snail mail notifications might be put down to,let us say, administrative error.

Tories need every vote they can get. As you say the young vote could make a big difference. We need to get out and vote and not be complacent.

mr.elbee: "except when you are old and need care. Then,if you are wise, you have nothing whatever to do with so-called state social care...if you want to survive in a happy a long and healthy old age."

Agree, and this is why some say either save as hard as you can so you have choices later in life or spend, spend, spend and don't bother and rely on the state to look after you.

Jeremy Corbyn's chances of winning the election are “dire”, and the party's reception in some parts of the country “abysmal”, the shadow health secretary has claimed.

In an explosive recording leaked this morning, Jonathan Ashworth is heard telling a friend to “stop worrying” because a Labour victory is “not going to happen”.

Alphorn: "Property does not always go up. What was subprime?"

No it doesn't, depends where one buys of course. Subprime as I understand it was making loan finance available for people to buy property who could never realistically pay it off. Does not necessarily mean that the underlying asset does not outpace inflation over the long term.

Good analysis........... this is why the imnmigration flows here are so strong....dossing around on the state....a part time job and kids you shoudnt have had in the first place guarantees you State support all the way.

except when you are old and need care. Then,if you are wise, you have nothing whatever to do with so-called state social care...if you want to survive in a happy a long and healthy old age.

Could we now keep this to LLoyds? Go to the other thread,or do we have to start yet another one dedicated to the stock?

Morning all. I see Walter Mitty is back up to speed. I shall say one thing he has a thick skin has our resident fantasist. Looking forward to Friday and leaving all this behind. Hung Parliament or a vote for Labour is a vote for chaos and more of the same we have had for 3 years. The young may think JC is a breath of fresh air but he is just a stale old fart that will take us back into the 1970's and bankrupt the Country. Lets he honest labour have form for that. BJ is not exactly my cup of tea, but the alternatives, FFS, there is not one. Labour need to bin JC as soon as possible and provide this Country with a positive and credible opposition.

Anyone who buys this Labour lie the Tories will sell off the NHS is stupid.

Labour privatised the NHS back in noughties with their PFI

As to who would buy the NHS.

Who Would Buy the NHS?

And alternative view

NHS already sold off to the EU!

NHS needs root and branch reform.
