Re: inflation prospects, the heart tells me to sell property and shares including gold to simplify matters going forward for my family but the head says keep property and gold, as cash and most shares will get devalued rapidly, especially under labour, even if it means paying for someone to sort it out later.

Scruff - high rents are a scourge for many. Putting far too large a proportion of income into the pockets of landlords. The economy would be boosted by rent controls. More disposable income for many, mainly young people. Less income for those rich enough to own multiple properties.
