The Foreign Office said it would not comment on details of her resignation.

However, it did confirm Ms Hall Hall had resigned as UK Brexit Counsellor at the British embassy in Washington - a post which involves explaining the UK Brexit policy to US lawmakers and policymakers.

In her letter, dated 3 December, she wrote: "I have been increasingly dismayed by the way in which our political leaders have tried to deliver Brexit, with reluctance to address honestly, even with our own citizens, the challenges and trade-offs which Brexit involves; the use of misleading or disingenuous arguments about the implications of the various options before us; and some behaviour towards our institutions, which, were it happening in another country, we would almost certainly as diplomats have received instructions to register our concern."








And the dunderheads continue in their quest to lead us all over the cliff....

Boris cleverly pointed out at least twice that the danger isn't just Corbyn but a Corbyn / Sturgeon coalition. The floating voter may be able to stomach Corbyn but the thought of Sturgeon pulling strings in the H of C may well make them think twice.

Sally-Ann Hart is the worst kind of human being! Never heard about her till I read the above post and Googled her to hear the meanest spirited argument against the most vulnerable people amongst us, who never fail to bring out the best sentiments within us! She as an MP is supposed to be there for the well being of her constituents!
Hope the voters there see the back of her! She will get her comeuppance one way or the other, that's for sure!

It was to be expected, Poikka. They have fought tooth and nail against democracy from the day the referendum result came in - naturally they wouldn't give up as we get to the endgame.

In the course of this struggle they have destroyed representative democracy in this country. This is one of the things they can never be forgiven for, and a thing which cannot be justified by any strength of feeling on a single issue.

Those of them who are Conservative have a further charge to answer, that they have given aid and assistance to the most dangerous man ever to seek to govern this country.

The anti-democracy brigade are firing on all cylinders in a last ditch attempt to bring about another shackled government and frustrate the referendum result, led by the BBC.

They don't even try to hide their bias anymore.

I don't think that it'll work, I certainly hope not, and personally I'd walk on hot coals to get to the polling station.

The UK's Brexit Counsellor to Washington has quit over having to tell "half truths" about Brexit.

"A former British ambassador to Georgia who had worked for the foreign office for 33 years, Hall Hall said her decision to quit had nothing to do with being “for or against Brexit, per se”."

No, of course not, love, and neither had the timing.
