05/12/2019 22:57 | France is interesting. Bust budget, no money to make pension commitments. A socialist party with everyone on strike. Watch and learn children. Europe is rotting from within. We should get out as fast as possible, to give ourselves the best chance to save Europe once again. | 1carus

05/12/2019 21:56 | I don't believe Corbyn is a principled leader or believe he is sincere on his recent apology for rampant antisemitism in the Labour Party, hates successful capitalists will offer any bribe, make any promise, make any excuse in order to gain power, then bare the fangs of envy! He has spent his entire carrier backing ideologies not conducive to British values. It's simply in his character to disagree with any established norm just for the sake of gaining a reputation for original thought! But the truth is he's just a follower of tried and tested failed political philosophy's still pursued in lagging resource rich nations ,whose people live in hope and linger in despair watching their cynical leaders fill their boots! Castro one of his heroes has proved that the idea of equal rewards for unequal contributions to society, no recognition of talent or enterprise makes for a dull unhappy stagnant existence. I too was captivated by the flower power movement and Pete Seeger's Guantanamera sentiments, but grew up fast when I realized it was no good hanging around for someone else to dig me out of my depressing damp bed sit in super rich Manchester Square in the early sixties. Saw Corbyn on The Julie Etchingham interview this evening. claiming kudos for being "Head of the composting arrangements" Don't that say all! When I feel a bit depressed or some negative emotion, I listen to this and hit real bottom, wallow in my misery for awhile then snap back....It could've been me, but for trying real hard! The writer of the song died for a noble cause, but what replaced it for 60 years and still counting is an impoverished country with more doctors per head of population than any other country, but with ancient hospital equipment and rationed medication! | gotnorolex
05/12/2019 21:54 | Fred HPosted December 5, 2019 at 1:39 pm | PermalinkOFF TOPIC....Recently there were posts here about better pensions in the EU. Today France has been crippled by widespread strikes over pension reform. Strikers protest about about the proposal to retire later and suffer reduced pension on retirement. So much for being better over there. | xxxxxy
05/12/2019 21:54 | I saw it m5, nothing to write home about if the same, spoke in riddles and weasel words. Not a patch on Nige's 'you're not laughing now' speech lol. hxxps://youtu.be/L5x | cheshire pete

05/12/2019 21:52 | George P , Thursday, December 05, 2019, 13:47:Who wants to see a militarily strong Germany? I'm not saying that they would launch a third attempt to take Europe by force, but they do have form and even 80 years on the thought that they might build the capability makes me uncomfortable. Although this time if they did, the flag that they marched under would be blue with yellow stars.... | xxxxxy
05/12/2019 21:52 | Farage and Brexit party are irrelevant. 3% in the polls, about the same as the Greens. | minerve 2
