Jennie Karremans 22 Aug 2019 3:32PMHas anything changed? No. Will anything change? Can a dinosaur like the EU change its mind? I don't think so. The sooner we leave this Eurassic Parc, the better. (After all, we all know what happened to the dinosaurs ;-).

opto, the government has welcomed the massive payouts as it has supported millions of households during "austerity" however the changes George made to pensions has allowed billions to be withdrawn from pensions effectively taking over from ppi as ppi claims wain so I dont think the gov. will extend at this late hour (imho), let's hope there's nothing new in the pipeline to milk the banks profits

jam2day, I read that the claims were at 190,000 and 19,000 of then were genuine, false claimants should be prosecuted!

Seems to me the currency markets are reading too much into Boris' optimism. It's just part of the game to appear thus so a contrast can be inferred from the negativity of the Europeans if we crash out.

The Markets have been completely clueless this summer, ramping up indicies late July against a shocking backdrop.

The market is reacting to the possibility of a deal.
The £ gets stronger and my struggling portfolio of domestic shares, well underwater, but bought because I thought even this bunch of clown would come to an agreement and get a deal.

I am well up today, and the market is 80 point s down.

If a deal is agreed and passed through parliament, the UK shares will surge.

Interestingly Britain finished paying its WW2 debt in 2006, Hyperinflation killed Germany in the mid war years, was it brought on by the Versailles agreement?

Alphorn I do not reply to complex questions with yes/no answers.

You are being condescending again.

The British people voted to leave the EU. Getting out is being like being Moses in Egypt.

Migration experts say the UK cannot end freedom of movement from the EU on Brexit day because it has no system to work out who is legally in the country.

A large blip up in sterling this afternoon. Boris seems very bullish and insists agreement can be reached before the October 31 deadline. In France has re-emphasised the 30 day 'target'.

This morning David Davis was talking of No Deal having risen.

So we still have any views that you might like to pick from the government on a daily basis.

willoicc - that is one hell of an unhealthy prejudice. Do you have any relatives btw born in concentration camps? You need to move on.

A yes/no answer will do as you hide behind your screen.
