Suspect one eye for income investors is now on Half Year Results on the 18th, forward dividend could be more than acceptable if the underlying EPS (exc fees) is reasonable.

No reason, just this and most stocks have been battered. Equity markets only forward look 1 year most, but fail to understand the long term potential of most names

LionTrust Asset Management issued its trading update for the six months ended 30 September 2022 this morning. Net outflows were £1.6 billion in the three months ended 30 September 2022 and £2.2 billion for the six months ended 30 September 2022. Assets under management and advice were £31.7 billion as at 30 September 2022, a decrease of 5.5% over the financial year and down a little further to £31.2 billion at 14 October 2022. The bear market is hitting the investment sector generally, revenues and profits will come under pressure accordingly. The share price is already down around 2/3 from last year’s peak, valuation is very attractive accordingly with forward PE ratio at 8x in the top quartile for the IB&IS sector. LIO is certainly a smaller asset manager worth owning, the weak macro outlook and potential for further market correction are the main clouds for the near term investment outlook. LIO will be worth owning at some point over the next year, but for now is still a share to monitor...

A decent & fairly optimistic write-up but I have to agree with:

"After decades of low inflation and cheap liquidity, we have entered a new environment for investors."

more than I do with the sellside stuff.

PMI Q4 AuM update today:

The recent fiscal event in the UK combined with the ongoing geopolitical environment have created a challenging and uncertain period for markets both in the UK and globally. Investors understandably have remained cautious about committing new investments during this period and we have also seen outflows across the industry from open-ended funds.

It is clear that the current market conditions are particularly challenging for the asset management sector and this was reflected in the Group's AuM ending the Quarter at £10.6 billion. We saw some outflows from our UK and European equity open-ended funds due to weak client demand across the industry. These outflows were partially offset by inflows into our fixed income, US equity and Diversified multi-asset funds. For the 12 months to 30 September 2022, gross redemptions from open-ended funds run by the Group were down 4% year on year, however, gross inflows into these products were down 35% over the same period.

Following the markets and back down again. Tories have really messed up here with their mini budget. More pain to come with BOE stopping the bond buying.

I think falls will resume when the markets tank again, & painfully sold my ones averaged at £9 (& the ones initially bought at £10). Glad of the divi along the way, but the gearing to a market I expect to still fall a long way is enough to get me out.

Good luck holders.

Some rebound from the lows of 700p. Was around 2300p start of the year. Fall looked well overdone even considering global events since then.

Good summary - I'm tempted too, but have to accept the short term outlook as more like your figures than some proximity to their last reported numbers. At some point it should make a shrewd medium term investment. But the world has to get through some heavy stuff first.

I keep getting tempted with these but then ran some numbers. Let's assume no performance fees FY, and 20% decline in management fees, along with 10% increase on costs. This pretty much gives just c£20m profit for the year! Calcs based on last years FY numbers.

Looked like mkt capitulation early on. £ recovering too. Govt. probably back tracks some of the mini budget soon imo.

Price has declined 20% in a month! Bonkers valuation considering fcst yield over 8.5% now. I've added.
