23/11/2006 14:18 | Arthur, The certificate for a LDSG purchase that I made about six weeks ago has not yet been delivered as the market is apparently short of stock. (I have been at my broker to force a guaranteed supply date under LSE Rule 12 for that purchase). I bought another 31K this morning and it has only just shown up in the reported trades list so I would not take too much notice of the reported trades for LDSG. Regards, John | the diviner
23/11/2006 12:12 | I´m still waiting for a reply on the results date. I thought they might be able to get them out before Chrimbo this year but we´ll see. Bid has dropped today despite a 25k buy going through, perhaps there´s a big sale going to be reported later. | arthur_lame_stocks
21/11/2006 18:56 | I sent a couple of emails to the company a few days ago asking when the results were due and suggesting they pay a dividend or give us 10p a share in cash back. I haven´t heard anything from them though. I used to find Malcolm Wilson was pretty good at replying to emails but he´s pretty much left now. Anyway I wish they´d just sell Hemmers really and give us all of the cash back like they said they were going to do a couple of times. | arthur_lame_stocks
21/11/2006 14:30 | thinking of getting back in here. I sold in May @23.62, but with results due soon & the director-speak trail below, I think it's worth considering- Y/E SEP 03 In this new financial year, October and November sales levels have been satisfactory, but fabric wholesaling is a mature business activity and organic growth opportunities are strictly limited. In such a market, it would not be realistic to suppose that further significant increases in profits are likely in the current year. Y/E SEP 04 Despite the strong focus of this business, the underlying weakness in German retailing leads us to believe that trading conditions in 2005 will prove more demanding than in 2004, and therefore, it would not be realistic to expect an increase in profits in the current financial year. Y/E SEP 05 Although it is of course early days, we are pleased that the current financial year has opened strongly with sales in October and November 20% ahead of last year and with an order book that, at this stage of the year, is fuller than it has ever been. H/Y MAR 06 This reflects both improved trading conditions generally, and also the success of Hemmers' strategy to directly target manufacturers of ready-made items in addition to our traditional customer base of fabric retailers.....We remain confident about the prospects of our continuing operations, where the order book continues to run at record levels. | jhan66
09/11/2006 16:31 | I think those were last years dates and their just using them as a guide. Perhaps i´ll contact the company and try to find out. | arthur_lame_stocks
08/11/2006 21:51 | Anybody got any idea when the results are out. Perhaps they´ll be out a bit sooner this year since it´s now a smaller, simpler company. | arthur_lame_stocks
16/10/2006 15:55 | No still here poacher but thanks for the kind sentiments. | arthur_lame_stocks

16/10/2006 11:35 | Well it looks like the Fool got us up a bit. A flurry of small buys this morning. Let´s hope the price keeps rising. | arthur_lame_stocks
14/10/2006 12:30 | Since loads of financial journalists get their share ideas from the Fool we might get lucky and get a tip in the Sunday press. | arthur_lame_stocks
13/10/2006 18:24 | Try this. Hopefully that´ll get you the whole thread, I don´t think you´ll need to log in or anything. | arthur_lame_stocks

13/10/2006 15:12 | Tick up. Has someone got wind of a trading statement? Answers on a postcard please to..... | langland
08/10/2006 12:10 | a swede bid at say .30 would effectively mean we got .43pence. i dont think they ever paid more than .60pence all those years back, and besides its quite irrelervant now given the value destruction in the interim. they wont bid !! they would have done it at the nadir if they ever intended to. in the meantime we all wait, hoping for a better tommorow but fully aware of this company's propensity to gravely dissapoint. gyllenhammar has gone strangely silent in the corporate world !!!! has he lost his loot as well as his reputation ?? | cg1953
07/10/2006 19:32 | Are you sure that the close period is only 60 days prior to the release of the prelims. I though it was from the end of the period for the finals and 60 days for the interims. Anyway perhaps we are less than 60 days from the release of the finals. | arthur_lame_stocks
07/10/2006 18:50 | Arthur, Been searching on the FSA site. It seems that (like Director dealings) buybacks are not allowed in the Close Period. However this is only 60 days prior to the release of the Prelims and so does not explain the disappearance of the 21.5p bid (which I had taken to be the company themselves). Des | deswalker
07/10/2006 16:28 | I don´t know off of the top of my head, i´ll have a look at the FSA´s website when I get a chance. I don´t know about the sinister intentions but I think the major risk with this share is that the Swedes will screw us. The problem with that is that they claim they are not a concert party and between them bought over 30% in the market without making a bid so the FSA might be interested if they do. I don´t see much risk in the figures assuming they´re true, the holding company should still have about 15p a share in cash and they haven´t warned so it´s probably pretty safe to assume the Hemmers will turn in an op of over 1m this year. | arthur_lame_stocks
06/10/2006 20:48 | Arthur, Do you know if there is anything stopping the buybacks between Year End and release of the results ? I'm not very knowledgeable about things like that. I'm aware of the two month Closed Period rule for Director dealing but am not aware of anything similar for buybacks ?? Just wondering where the 21.5p bid has gone. Was assuming that this would be a floor until results but clearly not. Hope it's not a precursor to more sinister intentions :-) Rgds, Des | deswalker
21/9/2006 18:33 | This thread´s quiet, although I ´spose there´s nothing to talk about. A bit of volume and a tick up in price today, probably the company buying in another 100k stock. I wonder if we´ll get a trading update before the end of the month. | arthur_lame_stocks
11/8/2006 16:46 | I think it´s worth about 35p a share too. There´s always a danger that the Swedes will try to screw us, although i´m not sure they will be able to take Leeds out for much less than the current price. I would like to see 10p a share in cash given back. Hemmers should be able to do 2p a share in earnings assuming current trading continues so the price is pretty much underpinned by this alone. | arthur_lame_stocks
11/8/2006 13:37 | That's me causing the tick up. Just bought a very modest stake (16500 shares). Been cogitating the situation for the last few days. Numbers look excellent but it's a funny state of affairs as all of you know only too well. In the end I decided to jump in with a few. A nice big divi whilst keeping some debt in Hemmers and combined with a big reduction in central costs will see me happy. Nearly as happy as selling Hemmers off to Private Equity and giving us back the lot :-) Must be worth around 35p unless the two Swedes are planning something nasty with one of their other textile interests. Even so, too cheap not to have a few tucked away. Des | deswalker |
