Thanks for your thoughts Zorija, hope you escape such tramau yourself in your dealings, a great deal needs to be done by the board of Landround in an effort to repair the damage done to the confidence of the holders who remain with them.
My good friend prefab, reminds me at the moment of a rotweiler whos dinner has been pinched!! cheer up mate, you still have me, now who was it who suggested way back that I take an interest in this one...bless you son.

Had this on the monitor for months but do not hold.

Sincere condolences for all that hold or held...

What inept management - EVO must have made a killing on this knowledge.

Safe to say LDR off monitor and I'll never hold stock in this co or any other that have an association with this motley crew that call themselves management. I thought they are there to protect and enhance shareholders' value. Hang 'em high.

The level of stupidity displayed by this management goes beyond my comprehension. What did he expect EVO to say? Yes tell the market because we currently hold stock bought 360p-400p but don't mind taking a hefty loss, of course bloody not.

Let's set aside the fact that they made the mistake in the first place (it's a strange coincidence that Crompton was liquidating 14% of his holding at the time). The institutions must be absolutely seething, let alone we poor fools.

The problem is in reality who outside of the company saw this coming, I for one stick my hands up in the air and say not me! Well and truly fooled.

My ring will be stinging for a good while yet.

Just enjoyed an interestng onesided conversation with my good lady, I explained the painful effect of the paper losses incurred this morning, it did not go well with her!! Got a feeling if I had excercised such "creative" accounting practices when I was a working chap that I may well have retired a deal earlier than was the case.
I remain a reluctant shareholder rather than a happy one, mainly because I am too damn mean to turn a paper loss into a real one, I suspect that over the next few days and weeks some of the posters I have got used to will disapear as they become non holders and thats going to be a shame.
That does not mean that I cannot sincerly wish everyone good luck, I am off now to lick some imaginary wounds, and some real ones from the comments made by "her indoors", of course richly deserved.

'We took the advice of our nominated advisor [Evolution Beeson Gregory] that it was not necessary to notify the market."

Is this man some sort of f@cking idiot. Evo have been selling stock for the last 2 bloody months, probably short as I've postulated on a number of occasions, and with good reason. They bloody knew, easy money for EVO. Stinks full stop, sack the clown.

"Chief executive David Lyne defended the company's decision not to have alerted the market earlier. 'We only realised the extent of the problems at the end of March and early April,' he said. 'We took the advice of our nominated advisor [Evolution Beeson Gregory] that it was not necessary to notify the market."

Nice to know they are looking after investor interests and no need to keep them informed.

Citywire Verdict:

This is not the first time Landround has caught the market on the hop. There is bound to be some bitterness about failure to alert investors to the problems it was facing, hence the sharp fall in the price today. The company will remain out of favour for some time

I agree with Citywire verdict.

4 hrs later and I still feel no better. Got a feeling this may be bought out just above £3 or so, and the current clowns replaced. This company will grow and gain good contracts, but frankly if small investors have no faith in the ability of management then how can the institutions?

I thought running a business meant you always had to be focussed on the future - what have they been focussed on then?

The lack of a Mastercard announcement should have rung alarm bells - they obviously new if they put an announcement out when it went like as they had promised then they would have had to warn. See like a company that's not doing the right thing but doing what it needs to keep the headlines right.

I'm glad the Chairman has 650K.

IC tipped these in March - another sell signal I guess! A bit unfair that I suppose as the punters focus on their slip ups it seems.

Can't avoid them all, CR. I see the chairman says the group is now 'focused on the future', but I think in view of past banana skins, investors are likely to focus on his past for some time to come.

I agree D.

Fortunate enough to reduce on the way down. The 'institutional demand' bit I hate too, what's worse is sometimes it is genuine and I'm the guy that sells out on the genuine ones.

I've got to say that the best I can see now is 20p eps. Should they trade on a forward PE more than 5-6 given the added unreliability they have just injected and the divi cut? I think so.

I can see these going down further myself - chuffing frustrating as I could have moved this lot to better less risky groud.

You have to feel pain to fully appreciate pleasure I'm told :-)

Sympathy to any who lost on this. What a disgrace: huge director sales in December, confident about results for this year in January, no warning, and now this.

Stoplosses and the director sales 'to meet institutional demand' took me out some time ago. When directors talk about 'institutional demand', it's often time to locate the emergency exit route.

CR - I binned 2500 at 280 at about half seven, thought I had been bum raped. I am almost (Well, not really) pleased now...

CR: Actually there was no problems selling up to 5k early on, infact you couldn't buy more than 1.1k online throughout the drop. So it does look like someone was looking to hoover up once the bottom had been found. As you say a bloody shambles.

Dave, this is what I sent, I will post any reply if any is forthcoming.

I am writing to you in the hope that you will pass on my utter disgust with todays results to your management. Your company has singularly failed in it's duty of care to shareholders, when it neglected to inform the market of the 'exceptional item' that had been discovered. The share price as you are no doubt aware, reacted accordingly. I and many other shareholders have suffered substantial losses as a result. I find it more than a little suspicious that key shareholders exercised options and sold stock at a time when this news may have been known to those people early in H1.

I can only assume that our 'New' Chairman will be looking to support the company's share price through possibly purchasing shares, as all I have seen in the last 8 months is management taking every opportunity to sell. This has not been an auspicious start to his reign. The market will be wary of every anouncement LDR makes from now on, and all the awards that were won by the company last year mean nothing.

The fact that this company won awards for it's communications is somewhat ironic don't you think?

I do understand how you feel this morning prefab, we know each other very well, our conversations on the twisted pair have gone from euphoria to horror at times and this morning was one of the later, I suspect you have echoed mine and others thoughts about the results, as you said earlier we can do nothing about it but complain, its a rough day and there are a few hours to go yet, and to make it worse I will try to find a nap bet for you, now who could have a greater friend!!

Well I've emailed the company to express my delight at todays results. Sorry lads finding it difficult to see any silver lining this morning. Problem is knowing our luck they will probably exceed market expectations next half, the institutions will hammer Carter for this and he will be expected to put his hands in his pocket.
