Ed,

I decided to take some of these earlier today. I can't see much going wrong.

You mentioning Tanzania made me remember Aminex. Do you remember the play?

Great to see such strong moves yesterday. I guess the market is getting itself prepared for the eventual listing of MED by Q4 2020, with KIBO expected to maintain a majority holding. Be interesting to see what that does to the cap here on top of the Haneti drilling and Blyvoor acquisition by KAT. I think the wet season in Tanzania is from March to May so there's an opportunity to get some shallow holes drilled there before Q1 next year.

Ed.

Anybody buying #KAT you’re far far far better off buying #KIBO

You get half of #KAT plus loads of other assets and projects for FREE

#KIBO 50% stake in #KAT is worth more than their current market cap

Never mind all their other successful projects/assets

#KIBO

Probably because KAT are having a good day and KIBO own 95m ish shares in those. Also there is likely to be some buying since KIBO recently took 100% of MED and that makes the planned LSE listing of MED much simpler. We'll not get into the multiple huge coal to power projects right now as the market likes to ignore those, for now.

As HH100 points out, this is likely to be pushed short term by Blyvoor completion and expo of the huge Haneti area. Then the MED proposed listing. Also PPA's expected for some of these African coal/power assets too that the market currently ignores.

Ed.

"Thanks for the excellent research guys.
The future certainly looks very positive here.
And the chart looks poised for a rebound from 1.425p, with a possible double bottom at about this level."

I feel more bullish about KIBO now than I have for about six years, when I was posting the above post.

KIBO had just had a placing at 1.5p:

08/10/2014 08:15 UK Regulatory (RNS & others) Kibo Mining Plc Kibo Mining raises £855,725 in Share Placing LSE:KIBO Kibo Energy Plc
"Kibo Mining plc ("Kibo" or the "Company") (AIM: KIBO; AltX: KBO), the Tanzania focussed mineral exploration and development company is pleased to announce it has received commitments to a share placing of 57 048 352 new ordinary shares of Eur. 0.015 in the capital of the Company with clients of Kibo's UK Broker, Hume Capital Securities Plc and River Capital Partners LTD, at a placing price of 1.5p per share (the "Placing Shares"), to raise gross proceeds of GBP855,725 before expenses (the "Placing"). Kibo's directors and senior management are participating in the Placing for a cumulative amount of GBP55,725 and will be participating on the same terms as other investors. ..."

And before the end of the year KIBO had rapidly multibagged to nearly 10p:

The price of gold motoring to over $2,000/ounce greatly enhances the economics of KAT's Blyvoor gold tailings project.

Gold price:

And it could be a lot higher still going forward:

"Gold to push above $3K in 3-5 years: Fiat currency is a key bubble — hedge fund

Anna Golubova Anna Golubova
Thursday July 16, 2020 15:23

Gold prices could nearly double in just three to five years, according to one hedge fund manager, who sees gold as an anti-bubble in an environment fraught with asset bubbles and runaway inflation.

Ultra-accommodative monetary policies and unlimited money printing will catch up with the markets and gold will rise above $3,000 an ounce in the next three to five years, Diego Parrilla, who heads the $450 million Quadriga Igneo fund, told Bloomberg this week.

Parrilla’s fund, which has delivered a 47% return this year, is made up of cross-asset hedges.

“What you’re going to see in the next decade is this desperate effort, which is already very obvious, where banks and government just print money and borrow, and bail everyone out, whatever it takes, just to prevent the entire system from collapsing,” Parrilla told Bloomberg. “The bubbles are too big to fail and mommy and daddy will do whatever it takes to prevent this.” ... "

So a soaring gold price could help to KATapult KAT to much higher levels.

A gold price of $3,000/ounce could increase the margin of KAT's Blyvoor gold tailings project to $2,500/ounce.

At 17,500 oz p.a. that could give a gross profit of around $43.75M. p.a.

DozyDuck,

That NPV figure is derived from a published research note:

18/12/2019 09:00 RNS Non-Regulatory Kibo Energy PLC Q&A Document LSE:KIBO Kibo Energy Plc

"Are NPVs attached to each project?

Yes, as part of the initial and ongoing economic feasibility assessment and financial modelling of each project, a key element is the assessment of the estimated inherent net present value ("NPV") of a project. In developing and operating large utility-scale power station projects, a 20-30-year view is required and forecasting the attributable cash flows over such a period is more of an art than a science. That said, cash flows can be valued for projects of this nature, utilising discounted cash-flow as a methodology to arrive at an NPV for unlevered free cash flow generated from Kibo's individual and combined power project portfolio. From this, we calculate the value of Kibo's equity share, after debt, the market value of minority interests and Kibo's share of the Developer's Premium is also considered. The most recent example of the foregoing can be seen in the First Equity Research Note as published over a year ago on 28 November 2018 and available on Kibo's website, which estimated the Company's combined projects' NPV at that time at US$1.9bn."

Dozy Duck,

Interesting post and how much higher is 8% of $350m than KIBO's current market cap? Goodness me the circa 95m KAT shares that KIBO hold are even worth more than KIBO.

Regards,
Ed.
