Hi Folks, I emailed KPMG today requesting an update and asked that I was not to be fobbed off with some generic statement about news being 'imminent', 'coming soon', or 'in the near future'. It's a bit rich blaming the recent pandemic when they have been working on this since 2018!!

GOT THIS 04 JUN 2020

Good morning,

Our apologies for the delay in the issuance of the AGM report for Juridica Investments Limited (in voluntary liquidation) (the “Company”;).

Please be advised that we are in the final stages of review and we expect to be in a position to issue the final report to investors next week.

The delay has been due to a multitude of factors, not least the ongoing pandemic but we are very close to being in a position to issue the report.

Thank you for your patience.

Kind regards

Julie

Yes. I'm told a much delayed report is due out imminently, but I've heard that before to be honest. Fingers crossed.

KPMG's FAQ sheet re JIL's voluntary liquidation states:

How will I receive updates on the liquidation? - The Company’s website will remain open in order to provide key announcements to stakeholders.

As you may be aware, the Joint Liquidators have retained the pre-liquidation asset manager, Brickell Key Asset Management Limited (“BKAML”), to assist with the realisation process of the residual assets of the Company, as detailed in the Company’s pre-liquidation circular.

In the event that there is a material update on this process then the Joint Liquidators will provide an update on the Company’s website, as well as issue a Regulatory News Service announcement (“RNS”).

The Joint Liquidators therefore recommend that stakeholders continue to monitor the website and for RNS announcements on a regular basis.

-------------------------------------------------------------

And guess what happens when you now try to go to the website?... You appear to need a username & password to access the site. Nothing like a good bit of transparency, hey?

I must admit it has all gone very quite. I received this email from Julie Snell at KPMG on 27th Feb. but nothing since.Anyone seen this report?
Good morning,

We will be issuing a report within the next couple of weeks, updating on the progress of the liquidation.

Kind regards.
Julie

Even with all the current restrictions, one would have expected some indication of what has been realised from the remainder of cases and ,more importantly, from the escrow account.

Hi Plas. Are you on a mailing list for updates on JIL from KPMG or did you email them?

Got this from KPMG this morning."The liquidators have a duty to report to investors as soon as possible following the anniversary of the liquidation in December.I would expect an annual report detailing the conduct of the liquidation will be sent in early January."

Agreed, plasybryn. Unfortunately the wheels tend to turn slowly at Juridica and there will doubtless be even less urgency there now that they have delisted.

Of possible interest to any remaining shareholders now that the shares have been delisted and the company is going through the process of Voluntary Liquidation...

There is a link on the homepage of the company's website to a useful FAQs document which covers info on future communications and any final distribution to shareholders once all assets have been realised and all costs/liabilities have been settled.

speedsgh,I obviously am taking a punt. This is not investing in any conventional sense. If you are interested in LitFin as an asset class,I suggest you look at Burford Capital. As regards your question,it depends how much,if anything, they can get for the remainder of the outstanding cases. They indicated they would not be forced sellers, then they seemed to change their tune, indicating they wanted to cut costs as ,like the cheesy old song 'pop will eat itself'( no one remembers or cares about it ,dreadful dross, the song that is!)it would cannabilise itself. It would be entirely untruthful and perhaps defamatory to suggest that it all started to go wrong when the former wife of the Principal was awarded shares in the co. as part of a divorce settlement. This was,I cannot emphasize enough, not the case.

+eysenck - No, that link is to the dividend announcement. But thanks for trying. Has anyone actually seen/received a copy of the Circular? All fairly academical now, I know, but would still like to get hold of a copy if at all possible. I have asked the company/its advisors but have so far been met with deathly silence.

djderry/Plas - Do we know if there is any prospect of a further distribution when the company is finally liquidated?

Has anyone got a copy of the Circular referred to in the company's rns dated 28/11/2018? The only document that appears on their website is the Form of Proxy; can't find any Circular or Notice convening the General Meeting? None of these documents are showing on the National Storage Mechanism either.

If anyone does have a copy that they are able to share, it would be greatly appreciated. TIA

From the 28/11 rns...

Further to its announcement on 22 November 2018 regarding a proposed wind up, de-listing and liquidation (the "Proposals"), the Company announces that it has today posted an explanatory circular detailing the Proposals, together with a notice convening the General Meeting to approve the Proposals, as well as an accompanying Form of Proxy.

These documents are also available to view on the Company's website at hxxp://www.juridicainvestments.com/
