I'm sure others here who have kept up to date will advise you, but, in the meantime it would be intriguing to know what directed a new investor to such an obscure share?

I am new to investment and bought some ord shares (not preferred) today of jdt and came to know the company is getting liquidated in Nov. Can anyone please help me understand, what happens if I keep them. Thanks.

HZM had a good day today and so hopefully this will be the start of a re-rating as it looks very undervalued even before this weeks announcement.

Skyship,

Thanks for that. Will take a look but will have to add to the watchlist presently as all the funds from sale of BNN have been used on HZM and nothing else to sell presently.

Hope you are well and enjoyed a good summer.

Gary

Edit: Company does look interesting and you will be pleased to hear that I picked up a very small amount today at 52.5p. CMS have done well for me and possibly think there is more to come as momentum seems to have built. They go Xd next week and so I will review after then and will consider switching.

15/09 Sold most of my CMS holding and bought more INL with some of the proceeds. Hoping that results later this month will polarise the market on the discount that Skyship has highlighted. Hoping results aren't before Tuesday as need to get money across to ISA before buying some more.

Gary - I have a small position in Inland Homes (INL) bought recently at an average of 59p. I am surprised and disappointed to see them sell down over recent weeks to 52.5p; at which level they are on a discount of 43% to the Dec'16 NAV & a 46% discount to the f/c NAV for Jun'17, which should be confirmed in this month's Prelims.

July's Trading Update revealed no unpleasant surprises, so there could well be some 10%-15%+ upside if the Prelims do indeed confirm all is well and good.

Worth a look at least...

Picked up some HZM over the last few days. Reminds me of ARS. Good management delivering on time and budget. Excellent resource, politically stable country and a lot of infrastructure in place. Very strong shareholder base as follows:

Teck Resources Limited 17.9%,
Lombard Odier Asset Management (Europe) Limited 14.11%,
Richard Griffiths 14.5%,
JP Morgan 8.4%,
Hargreave Hale 6.4%
Glencore 6.4%.

Good newsflow due starting with feasibility study in new year. Production due to start end of 2019/start of 2020. Firming Nickel price and fundamentals.

Will be a long term hold like ARS but fed up of trading anyway!! :-)

Interesting announcement on CAML this morning. Not sure if they are potentially the acquirer or to be acquired. Press enquiry made, which has prompted the announcement, but nobody can find anything in the press to give shareholders a clue as to what the transaction is.

Admitted defeat on BNN on Friday over concerns that revenue streams aren't gaining traction and lack of clear regular updates from the co about current transaction values.

Edit:Just seen the announcement on BNN and so lucky timing on Friday. Shame I didn't get around to selling the ones held in my SIPP on Friday as well. More reputational damage for China based enterprises although in this case this wasn't China registered, just operated in China. Tilts this will be the last time I get involved in anything Chinese, I promise.

finkwot,

We were all holders of JDT years ago, and the thread became synonymous with split level investment trusts. Since that played out a few people throw out some general stock ideas.

You might have to set up a JDT thread that's actually about JDT. This seems to be a chat thread that's pinched a random EPIC code for no apparent reason.

There's this one but it has no charts or anything in the header. At least it's on topic though

Well I have taken a gamble today and sold 30% of my RUSP holding to buy CAML at 207.8p average. At that level yielding a historic 7.5% which I suspect will increase this year. Production levels maintained at last years level. Copper price has strengthened enormously over the last year which will pretty much drop through to the bottom line. Management excellent delivering to time scales and on or under budget. Resource expanding. F/X moved favourably since last year. Structural copper shortage starting to take hold. Demand side improving with electric cars etc. Copper price breaking out to higher levels yet the share price has declined whilst this has taken place.

The UK indices closed H1'17 in positive (though weakening) territory with:

# FTSE100 at 7313 (+2.4%)
# FTSE 250 at 19340 (+7.0%)
# AIM at 966 (+14.5%)

Most colleagues/BB friends seem to be holding high cash balances; an air of caution pervades.

Thanks mainly to Private Equity & propcos LSR & UAI, I'm happy to be UP 11.1% at this stage of the year; but don't hold out much hope for H2'17. I hold 25% CASH.

My 4 largest holdings are 2 x propcos (LSR & PCA) & 2 x Debt plays (NBDG & RECI).

Interesting 1.2m trade in PCA last Friday - a 4.7% stake changing hands at 355p. A "Holdings" RNS from PCA today confirmed Schroders down to 6.7% and it was Miton Group who took that 1.2m - doubling their stake up to 9.7%.

Well pleased with that; as was the Market as the predicted chart breakout confirmed and the share price advanced to 390p.

I've looked at this for a while, and I just can't get my head around the price / prem / divi. I understand that this will be wound-up, so I can only assume the value 'buy at 4.5p' is based on .65 divi + 3.85 redemption value (approx). But wouldn't the value of holding be stated somewhere?

Can anyone offer an explanation.

Interesting to view the PCA chart - looks to be carving out a bullish Reverse Head & Shoulders with a target of 420p.

Propco PCA's Trading Update today certainly didn't disappoint as the NAV is stated to be ahead of Market expectations - currently thought to be c430p. IMO The Finals on 6th June may also reveal a dividend ahead of Market expectations. Sp still unchanged however, remaining on offer @ 360p.

I've added at that as they look an extremely good value trade ahead of those Finals.

TAP has now more than doubled from when I mentioned them. Tempted to take a little off the table but always had a target of £4. News flow since I bought them has been strong and results next week. In themselves not important as the company has kept investors informed of increasing guidance throughout. Of greater importance will be a trading update now that we are slightly further into the year. New year update stated that they were significantly ahead of the previous year and so expecting next weeks announcement to be good.

Have a good weekend

Gary

An opportunity this morning to cash in on the next MTH Tender. They can be bought @ 205.75p versus what looks to be a Tender of 30% @ 217p in May.

MITHRAS (MTH) really is the magic money tree that keeps on paying. That 217p compares with the Dec’16 NAV of 221.2p and a likely current NAV in excess of 225p; so perhaps they’ll consider making it at a higher figure later on…

Still….well pleased!
===============================================

“…the Board is pleased to announce that it is currently preparing for its sixth tender offer, which is expected to be for no less than GBP9.2 million and should be completed, including obtaining approvals and receiving tender offer requests, before Friday 5 May 2017.

The sixth tender offer will be priced at net asset value less costs, which are expected to be in the region of 1-2% of net asset value”

Does anyone follow this one - any experts on this?
Initial thoughts:
-50% yield seems insane (in a good way)
-25>33% spread seems insane (in a bad way)
-c.220% premium seems insane (in a worried way)
-ultra high yielders are often dangerous due to the fwd price-yld discounting
-trade log is all buys
-fibs say could go to 6p or even 9p if it breaks up (but is it worth it with the spread)
-if the world eventually goes defensive it might!
-or could continue sideways/down forever due to the mega div discounting
-Brexit was the time to buy (as with everything)
-Morningstar is showing a recent leap in nav
-Ongoing Charge (2015) seems insane 29.87% ?

Grateful for any thoughts from folks who know this type of extreme asset?

FBT lost their CEO last week and shares dropped. Not sure why as he didn't seem to be rated that highly by the investing public on ADVFN. Anyway a very small position that I have now increased as I finally received some more of the CHT sale proceeds at the end of last week. As it turns out I am glad they were delayed otherwise I would have increased the position at a higher price.

For all you chart believers CMS has broken through 50p on good volume today which it hasn't done for over a year. Hopefully onwards and upwards.
