BHP offers to buy Noront Resources for C$0.55/share

BHP, through its BHP Lonsdale wholly owned subsidiary, offers to acquire Canadian miner Noront Resources (OTCPK:NOSOF) for C$325M.

The C$0.55/share offer represents a 69% premium to Noront's closing price of C$0.325 on July 26, and is 75% higher than Wyloo Metals previous proposal of C$0.315/share.

BHP Lonsdale already owns 3.7% of the Noront shares on a fully diluted basis.
Noront is developing nickel, copper, chrome and platinum projects in Ontario's Ring of Fire region.

Wyloo, which owns a 23% stake in Noront, agreed to become a cornerstone investor in Noront last December.

presumably their PR people should be able to advise when they will release production figures even if not the content as thats hardly sensitive info?

to busy to look into the shares this morning, shame I would have bought SLP as sub £1.00 for a quick trade.

SLP does need to use some imagination and invest it's cash in diversifying into different areas and different metals.

JLP will soon be overtaking through a diverse range of metals, locations and smarts

I think SLP shareholders were expecting a better Q4 than Q3

"PGM production in Q4 was slightly lower than the previous quarter, production of 16,289 4E PGM ounces"
