Journeo has secured two significant contracts worth a combined £3 million, highlighting its growing presence in the rail sector and its expertise in providing advanced onboard CCTV and Automatic Passenger Counting (APC) solutions. The larger contract, valued at £2.4 million, involves equipping 64 trains (35 for East Midlands Railway and 29 for Cross Country) with CCTV and APC systems, covering 158 carriages. The second contract, worth £0.6 million, is with Arriva Train Care and covers 16 trains for East Midlands Railway, totalling 32 carriages. Both contracts include comprehensive design and support services.

Journeo's growth since August 2021 has been remarkable. When first featured, the company's shares were priced at 122p, with a market capitalisation of just £10.7 million. Today, the shares trade at 229p, representing an 87.7% increase in share price. This growth has significantly increased the company's valuation, now at almost £38 million. As you can see from the chart, the share price is around 65p off its prior peak—not too shabby, if I say so myself.

Gervais Williams holds 100 plus companies in his various funds and also does a lot of marketing work (regularly popping up on podcasts and the like) so impossible to cover these positions in any detail - I therefore wouldn't pay too much attention to what he says. Track record also very patchy although he tends to have the odd good year.

Personally I follow Richard Staveley of Rockwood and his SME investments/strategy. DYOR naturally.

Re Journeo I wonder whether the seller(s) will reappear and this spike will be used to offload more? Lets see.

Interesting comment NChanning. I hadn't heard of him and found the interview uninformative. Top down handwaving.
Graham Neary is the opposite - drills down into the detail and bubbles up.
Anyone else got a favourite commentator?

Gervais talks a good game but is a bit of a fish with 100 stocks and trades them badly . Small cup fund up just 50% over 10 years

Cheap as chips on my collection of metrics, together with several mechanisms for growth.
I will now increase if there are new customers in the Autumn.

Added a few more this am on the back of a reassuring RNS.

Yes Adam, unfortunately this happens a lot. Most trades looked like smallish PI sells

People seem to be selling because...other people are selling. Yet the news flow continues to be only positive, including more this morning. Glad I'm still on board and hopefully buying more at the end of yesterday was a good decision.

Yes, had there been an imminent warning or something else in the background, it would have been out today. adds more fuel to my suspicion that the weakness has been caused by Williams selling his shares and then his acolytes dumping theirs yesterday after that interview came out in the morning.

And the RNS infers general trading is fine so hopefully yesterday marks a short term bottom, but what do I know...

Listened to the link. Somewhat brief but he was very complimentary about JNEO but thought that given how bombed out small cap valuations are, there were better opportunities elsewhere. Share price is 25%-30% down though so perhaps he now needs to revisit that conclusion given the PE is now sub 10x!

Lets see what today brings

I'm glad I bought as I know my style and 50% of my buys will fail - but that's ok and pretty standard. I am down a tad and if it goes further down I'll exit. It's very easy to rationalise after the event what you should or shouldn't have done. I have some positions that are working very nicely and these swamp out the volatility here. You never know which of your purchases will work or not so just have to suck it up when one goes down

I'm glad I didn't buy here. I had been watching this stock since November last year. It was on the 4th stage base then and looked to be topping out, there was significant distribution with price moving sideways then the break below what should have been support at 232p. Next support is around 200-210p mark. All the best to holders but with such big price drops it's not easy to hold.

Thanks Simon. That might well be the rationale for the sell off in that case given his following

Gervais Williams discussed the stock at 39.35, said he had taken profits:

Quite a drop late on. Daily volume of something like £600k-£700k for a £38m market cap company

Lots of small trades. No massive ones, and lots of odd numbers

Not sure what to make of it, particularly given the NED purcahse 6 weeks ago. If there is an imminent warning, clearly he didnt know about it then

NChanning - good point, "pre-election restrictions are temporarily impacting central government, local authority and Train Operating Company decision making and spending across the UK transportation sector. This action is resulting in the rescheduling of certain projects and a short-term contraction of new order activity" seems relevant

😊
The only risk I see is that there is something that is not in the public domain and cannot be deduced, red.
It's up a bit from my earlier buying but ai am hoping for weakness after lunch.

AdamB's comment:
"There was a RNS in late May that a couple 'Robert & Virginia Millington' had sold down a >7% position to c.5.5% so perhaps they're dripping more into the market?",
might be very relevant as the reason for a big seller of a small cap might well be nothing to do with the company.
