29/1/2017 18:34 | and you are to reality as LC is to optimism. | dazzaa
29/1/2017 17:53 | Nonsense guys, the problem of JPR recovery are you two. You are to shareholders what the CEO is to the company. If you are not helping the share price recover get out of the kitchen! Long Live STUDENT READERS!!! long live the revolution! | netcurtains
29/1/2017 16:18 | well said dazz. am still lol! | stdyeddy
28/1/2017 23:18 | dazz!! just seen your post. lol. | stdyeddy
28/1/2017 22:39 | nc you must be on some pretty powerful stuff use it sparingly and don't post any thing for at least an hour. | dazzaa
28/1/2017 17:29 | Well having "loads" of kids I do know they are avid readers of the Guardian (on-line I admit but so what) so I don't see why, with a bit of tweek to be SUDENT-ISH the "I" could not take 50% of the Guardians share of the UK student/lecturer market. It would need some tie in with a USA based news portal that is in competition with the Guardian....Perhaps they would buy the "I" for a very large sum simply to use it to attack the Guardian with on its home turf. | netcurtains
28/1/2017 16:45 | Happy to offer myself up as Chief Gag Officer for a modest retainer | brando69
28/1/2017 16:24 | Brilliant brando! If jpr could ever manage anything with this kind of wit, verve and style, (see brando's link) they'd be out of trouble in a year. | stdyeddy
28/1/2017 16:15 | Students get their news from youtwitface.com don't they? | brando69
28/1/2017 13:50 | karlos885: Its not really asking much - just make a student version of the "I".. I mean TNI make endless versions of the Surrey Advertiser (for all the different towns in Surrey) so making TWO versions of the "I" is not really asking much. Just gives a fighting chance of getting those 600,000 extra readers. | netcurtains
28/1/2017 13:04 | surely we'll get some news trickling through next week as a result of CA activities | brando69
28/1/2017 10:36 | Netcurtains could be a great idea but again sounds resource Heavy plus distributing a free is no cheap feat. The problem we have that top of these print companies they all made their dollar there is little insensitive to invest in new ideas and drive the companies forward. Hence why the share prices have gone into holiday mode only this time we have been on the going home flight for a very long time. | karlos885
27/1/2017 15:31 | What political stance would this student newspaper have to take nc. | dazzaa
27/1/2017 13:00 | added today | brando69
27/1/2017 09:17 | Great post: | netcurtains
27/1/2017 08:52 | With the "economies of scale" that winning the Daily Mail print contract has given the big JPR print press, I guess the extra cost of printing a STUDENT edition of the "I" (eg leave in Student Unions with adverts for BooHoo or Asos or Misguided all over them) - try make a tie in with BuzzFeed and or Gawker - that should blow the door of this mouldy company! Campus type universities are crying out for a student newspaper. Could carry pages of ads for properties to rent. Potential circulation: 600,000. | netcurtains
26/1/2017 21:17 | Our only hope is the I can support the locals through this difficult time. I think the Sunday I would be a good move, if the figures are stacking up well for the I i think they should take the plunge, if the funds are available. My only concern being the next reported figures should show the I not going backwards with its circa i guess they are testing how much they could increase the price relative to how many people will continue to buy it despite the increase. The i is potentially the new young persons paper. They need to tap more into the uni's to get more young people reading it somehow. it would nice to see them carry an education supplement, big money in education and an excellent topic for readers. | karlos885
26/1/2017 20:14 | dazz, if only. However, it's not hard to reach anyone these days. I think mrsx has retired hurt, due to the failure of the bid thesis - don't be hard on yourself mrsx; it all made sense at the time - but I believe that she's a diligent correspondent who regularly gets her views across while seeking interesting info. | stdyeddy
26/1/2017 18:15 | Dazzaa: Nope.... | netcurtains |
