juju: I saw it trading at the 309p level since which it has risen some 40p.if you bought at these levels now might be a good time to box in some profit.

Dextroisomerism: Twas ever thus! One rarely if ever buys at the lowest and sells at the top. I too failed to press the button at 309. However , I'm content to WAIT because I firmly believe that there will be other opportunities ..not necessarily at such a low level. Ask yourself the question ...'Do I think general market turbulence is over and that the 'R' word will not continue to affect the price of oil in the short term?' ....before you deal is my advice to myself when I'm tempted to part with my hard earned cash!!

Atlantic you miss the point WG. is a WG. thread.

Type DOW & you will find a Dow thread.

Your bland statement could be used on any share in any world market.

Well done for not buying at 440.

juju43: BE CAREFUL. Regretably even though the share is now trading at a pound below my selling price in December I still consider that it has further to fall in the short term whilst the current general market volatility persists.

Atlasntic1953: So far my trend predictions have been reasonably accurate. As to the 'bottom' this month ??......it is possible we may see a further 10% fall . For the time being I'm not a buyer .

Touched 350.5p today and ended @ 359.5 to 360p i.e. down almost 7% on the day.

Doubtless there will be a 'dead cat bounce' but do not agree that the 'uptrend is intact'...indeed quite the opposite in the short term.

One has to remember that the low for WG. over the past twelve months is 235.5p so its had a good run and has only re-trenched from its high over the Christmas period and in reality since last Monday when it started the week at the 430p level.

juju43- Don't get me wrong I'm convinced there will be an upwards trend for this stock but not this month with all the turmoil and uncertainty currently in the US markets/economy.

Wendsworth, I didn't buy - my cash is still intact but they are very tempting at this price. Do I have the patience to hold off any longer?
Money maker - I think your appreciation of CAPE is very astute. I have been considering them very seriously. Comment in the Times 2 weeks ago stated that their safety services to the oil industry will be a high profit business over the next few years e.g. the BP safety disasters that have to be sorted at any cost.

I have LO position at 340 as a gapfill from last August at 337. Possibly later this week? but as I've been waiting for this since October 2007, so a week or so is neither here nor there in the great scheme of things. Looking for the RSI to be at 40 on the weekly chart an equivalent to 23 June 2006. All gaps eventually get filled.
