09/1/2008 22:46 | slim9: My comments are to be taken in the short term . Like you I consider that in the medium term WG has potential and is certainly undervalued as compared with others in the sector . For the present though I'm content to wait and watch. | wendsworth
09/1/2008 18:05 | If it helps - the world follows the DOW yes it is important - pick the shares to beat market. I strongly believe WG will do this with figures/TO/PROFIT/Ta ;-) | slim9
08/1/2008 22:24 | Wendsworth i like your sense of humour and your comments have assisted me in preventing me loosing money.I have only recently been watching this stock but it does seem to be closely linked to the dow.On Several occasions it has traded up strongly only to be knocked back by a weak dow. Thanks again and yes this the wg. thread but the dow does seem relevent. | atlantic1953
08/1/2008 21:04 | slim9; Athe risk of being boring ....as I write the DOW is DOWN a further 195 points . Some analysts are predicting that if the DOW falls through the 12600 level that could well lead to severe global market falls. You may well consider sharp downward falls in the DOW to be irrelevant to WG's share price in the short term But I dont. | wendsworth
06/1/2008 19:51 | slim9; Noted! | wendsworth
05/1/2008 22:51 | Wend your on the wrong thread for the Dow. ;-) | slim9
05/1/2008 18:51 | Atlantic1953: DOW down another 256 points.WG has held up well this week which is a good sign....however I will not be tempted back in for the time being. What concerns me about this share is that it can move quickly on relatively low volume ..which is OK if its going the right way but can be disastrous if the move is against you. | wendsworth
04/1/2008 09:18 | Added. the 250000 buy wasn't mine........... | slim9
03/1/2008 10:17 | WENDSWORTH VERY GOOD CALL ON YOUR PART | atlantic1953
02/1/2008 22:51 | DOW finished down > 220 points tonight . We all need to be careful. My previous comments refer. | wendsworth
02/1/2008 11:49 | I agree with Ju all the way . The next figures will be v.encouraging. | slim9
01/1/2008 20:50 | Atlantic1953: Noted.Thanks.For what its worth my comments are GENUINE. Although we'll all be tempted in the short term ...it strikes me that 'Cash is king' for the time being. Somtimes its worth remembering that one can always buy ....but in volatile markets it can be difficult to sell at a realistic or profitable level. | wendsworth
01/1/2008 11:12 | looks like the retrace is in so we will have to wait for the next attempt on 440 | juju43
30/12/2007 20:54 | Thank you for your posts which are both easy to read and logical. It is always good to read posts like yours where you can see how an argument has been made. Cheers to succesful investing in 2008!! | atlantic1953
30/12/2007 20:30 | this has just broken up from a double bottom and also gone through resistance at 440. a move above 450 looks on the cards short term but 14 day rsi is now over 75 so a retrace before long looks likely. further out ,these guys are in the picks and shovels of the oil industry - no better place to be - and sustained progress for years , or a take out, looks certain . my 2008 target is £7 min in reasonable markets . should still be there in a market turn down . i own quite a few | juju43
30/12/2007 19:41 | Atlantic1953: Prospects do look good HOWEVER I just have a feeling that the overall market will have a tough time in January in which case WG. could well see a retrenchment in its share price . Its only 2/3 weeks ago that this share was trading in the 370s. I have therefore followed the example of Messers Langlands and Semple (Directors) who recently sold 240,000 @ £4.32 and 113.083 @ £4-33 respectively , and sold my holding with the intention of buying back in down the line. I've missed the 440s but have learnt over time to box in profits during periods of market volatility. My advice to you therefore is to monitor for the time being. As to a price in 2008 ...500p doesn't seem too unrealistic. Any other posters got a view? | wendsworth
28/12/2007 15:00 | DB 440 magic break. | slim9
28/12/2007 14:46 | think we have a new high on the horizon | juju43
23/12/2007 20:45 | Hi I am new to this stock. Has anyone got a view on their outlook for 2008.The Company does seem to have very exciting prospects.I wonder what a realistic price target would be for dec 2008.?? | atlantic1953
20/12/2007 08:45 | should catch up today | juju43

19/12/2007 11:52 | Abbot Group plc ('Abbot') bid | hursheel
19/12/2007 09:55 | Rumoured bid target and oil services group Wood Group expects full-year profits to be ahead of market expectations with all three divisions delivering increased revenues and margins. The group predicts operating profit before deduction of exceptional items and amortization of other intangible assets to be up by more than 45% on last year at around $315m. "Our businesses are performing well in strong oil & gas and power markets," said chief executive Allister Langlands. From digital look. | slim9
18/12/2007 15:45 | this should be in for a run with good trading update | juju43 |
