mpclag - think the gas hike news which was released after the market close will have a significant positive effect for JKX. The last 3 months the domestic gas price was down 40% following the Russian gas price deal, so this puts it back up again and profit margins for JKX back up. Also the exchange rate to the USD should also help reaching an all time low today.

Full yr results are out tomorrow, so should be an interesting day here. Am expecting Ukraine gas production figures to be significantly up and some great cash generating figures and maybe a reinstatement of their dividend

does anyone have any views on what impact the Ukranians hiking the gas price by 50% will have on profits. They also plan future hikes to bring the gas in line with world prices in 2018. At a guess I would have thought this would increase the profits (all depends on the tax take I suppose).

Scammed him, as our intellectuals like to say. They signed some deal, Abramovich transferred several billion dollars, while this guy never delivered and pocketed the money.

Well, the issues in Ukraine can hardly be helping sentiment.
I am glad I took my very modest profit last year.
JKX EXI RPO etc are all blighted companies and as such are off limits to most of the big investors which makes them vulnerable to price fluctuations.

Lots of positive things going on for JKX even with the dodgy shareholders. The new field in the Ukraine that started production last month is great news and Russian production seems set to rise later on in the year. However, the political unrest in the Ukraine could drive the share price into the ground, especially if it turns into a full civil war - which it easily could. I'm around breakeven at the moment - not sure which way to go.

Just like EXI, JKX is now blighted by dodgy shareholders.
I made a small amount out of a trade here but sold several months ago after the announcement of the poor outcome from the last big fracking exercise.
The best outcome for all holders would be a buyout by one of the big holders but they dont seem to want to play by London listing rules.

Great result from new well, which in an instant has added 34% more gas being produced in the Ukraine than in the last quarter. News which seems to have been completely ignored by the market. Good results like these cannot be ignored for long IMO

Difficult decision, I really felt that they had reached a turning point but given that they spent quite a bit of time and $$$$s on the multifrac and got next to nothing has somewhat shaken my belief, hence my bailing.
Having said that the current valuation is undemanding so I don't think there is much downside to be had either.
Good luck....I will keep an eye on them and might rejoin at a later point.
