Cutting the dividend also wouldn't have gone down well with IIs. I'm buying at these levels hoping that they will reinstate it next year now high capex period has passed and loan is due to be paid off soon (December). I agree they have let investors down but when you look at management shareholdering and the fact that they haven't diluted shareholders during the drop then you can see their aim is aligned with ours and they should take some credit for this.

No promises as with any oil and gas play (and especially ex-soviet region) but if they start meeting targets I am quietly confident that this will be a good level to buy at. I've added a second amount this afternoon (3 lots in total) and that will do me for the time being.

NAV doesn't really come into it.
I hold HOIL that has a NAV several times its market cap and I have a long spread bet here from 79 with March expiry.
These guys have been hit due to their repeated failure to meet their own publicly stated production targets, they were also hit by a massive hike in taxation which can hardly be blamed on management but nonetheless substantially reduces the value of the associated assets
They finally appear to be getting back on track but the market is understandably cautious. I am hoping that the next results in Feb will start to settle nerves.

Decided to take the plunge today having been watching these since Horneblower posted this chart on the 08.11.12, post 7166.

Hopefully this is the start of the journey up.

Look like buyers are taking stock at the 80+ level. Anyone got level 2 here?

Thanks Simon.

I've added a 2nd slice this morning and am trying to free up a bit of ISA cash for a 3rd. I'm happy buying here at and around 80p - looks far too cheap IMO.

Fundamentals excellent (PE=3; P/NTAV=0.45 Interest cover > 10)
Technicals excellent - beautiful graph with price falling off smoothly and selling leveling off around the 75-80p level.

Have begun accumulating here

I only wish I understood what's going on here.. It's a producer as well as an explorer, used to pay a dividend and has a five year chart which begins at £5.. I can only think that once we break the 80p level we will surface quite rapidly at £1. to negotiate the 200sma. By which time we will still be lower than the 2008 low! Clearly things we don't understand.. or is that just me..? I've been buying in the late 70s.

Have doubled my holdings this morning. Compression is such that a move either way must surely be imminent? My thinking is that it's less likely to go lower, but NAI. Not without risk, clearly.

NTAV and the historic price suggests it is more than possible. No shares issued since the drop from 300p, production set to increase into next year debt cleared in the next couple of months, capex intensive period finished. A lot depends on management hitting targets and rebuilding trust IMO, a reinstatement of the dividend would go a long way to do that.

Management holdings show that their intentions are aligned with shareholders though.

DYOR. I did and bought in last week at 75p, just a small stake initially but will add when funds allow and milestones are hit.
