Rig hooking up at Bigfoot now.

Breakout on the technical chart as £1.90 posed no resistance. In for a good day today.

I thought it was a bit expensive and now I know why! But if it produces the goods and we hit the jackpot, who cares.

‘MAGIC’ ALGORITHM

The seismic breakthrough for BP came when Xukai Shen tested a new idea he had for the FWI algorithm in 2016.

What happened was magic - the pieces came together,” recalled Etgen. “We finally had the right algorithm with the right data set to create the model of the salt formation and use the model to remove distortion.”BP says its new seismic technology could save it hundreds of millions of dollars in exploration hours by pinpointing the location of the most promising deposits.

However Barclays analysts said in a report last year that BP and Norway’s Equinor had the most advanced deployment of technology among oil majors.

Lots of posts suddenly, it still seems to have escaped most people's attention which is good as it has given me a chance to add at such low prices.

PS I suppose this Jersey is brexit proof as they have discovered oil and that is priced in dollars, not pounds sterling.

PPS The rig should be at the first location in an hour!

2solaris.

Yes indeed. If the appraisal well comes in good with near to the top level of expectation then JOG is easily worth over 1000p a share.

It simply is one of the best plays on the market now - higher risk than others (say like HUR) but higher rewards in the short term as well.

I was talking about May 2018 2solaris which is when they were expecting the appraisal drill around June 2018 but it was delayed until this time.

The big difference is that now we have the discovery and this upcoming drill is an appraisal, in 2017 they didn't have that, only hope. 25mboe is proven, after this drill the expectation is for a much higher amount. There is also the possibility of a sidetrack if they think it necessary. This is just Verbier, there are bigger targets for the future.
Will Equinor buy Jersey out once they know what is actually there? Just Verbier could be worth £10 +++ a share!

Thanks xx.

Last time the Company was heading for this appraisal well it reached 2.55 and then the realisation set in quite a bit before the drill was to happen that it was being delayed. SO it could have reached say £3.50 at Spud. The only difference now is we have 3D seismic to help and if that is positive we could find ourselves at £5 very easily pre spud assuming we hear about the seismic.

Thing is, JOG shares could be now at 350p and it would not be classed as a crazy valuation.

This is going up by some considerable margin pre drill and post drill, if successful to the upper end of expectations, its going very much higher than 350p.

Next news may be from the ongoing 3D work.

Shares of Jersey Oil & Gas PLC (JOG.LN) rose Wednesday after the company said Equinor ASA (EQNR.OS) will start operations at the Verbier oil discovery in the North Sea shortly.

Jersey said these operations include the appraisal drilling of the Verbier discovery, in which the oil-and-gas company holds an 18% stake. Equinor is the operator of the P2170 license area, where the Verbier discovery is located, Jersey said.

The Norwegian state-backed oil giant, formerly known as Statoil, has ambitious plans to invest in the U.K.'s North Sea, as a pickup in activity across the country's oil-and-gas industry looks to be supported by recovering crude prices.

Jersey shares at 1354 GMT were up 7.3% at 176.00 pence, having earlier risen more than 10%.

Many years ago, i held shares in Charterhall, who discovered the Buchan field. Never made money out of it though, I lost patience, then some foreigners stole the show! :(

Strange world?
