11/4/2024 09:18 | Good News for Beaconsfield. Another £2m Spoons going up! | isis
10/4/2024 20:52 | 5.75 - 5.90 isn’t putting Gozza off .. He’d even do 6.00 , but 6.20 and he’s out …. His meagre weekly budget allows a few pints but gotta watch the pennies eh Gozzooo.. “ my property empire “ he said … 😂😂 lol , council houses you get rent paid for don’t count | seedoftongo
10/4/2024 20:49 | I think Spoons probably didn't need to close some of those Pubs, but there are many other chains/independents struggling still. Spoons have a great operation and more or less the same stuff in every Pub which saves a hell of alot of phaffing about and people know what they want at a price they can afford. I have a friend who's an absolute EU Nutter against Brexit but still drinks in them most Nights! He does own a Flat in Poland of all places! | isis
10/4/2024 20:41 | Probably ,as my mates all have different views and they go in Spoons mainly because of price and no loud music ?They won't turn their nose up at under 3 quid a pint, just to prove a point lol ?I've got into these mix and match bottles with the partner or mate .5.90 for two are great value ,having increased from 5.75 .That increase won't put us off, as most pubs charge 5.90 or above for one ? | gozzie2
10/4/2024 20:35 | Like I said those who say they boycott this and that never fekin went to Pubs anyway! Like the non-smokers that were supposed to all go down them, they never did and they never would! Bunch o' hypocrites! | isis
10/4/2024 20:19 | "I wish he'd stop banging on about Brexit, C19 restrictions, VAT on food etc" but that is a big part of what he is selling ... the complete opposite of lefty/green/trans/eu he is signalling REAL virtues. [try EMPATHY for the old punters who would like Tim to be PM. it doesnt really hurt] | mr.elbee
10/4/2024 20:01 | Yep As before covid it's getting difficult to find a seat ,especially at weekends . Chorley this week ,if we can find a seat ??Some of those Slugs would be large enough as a Spoons .I don't believe they have ever known what they are ?They ain't pubs and they ain't restaurants?Just soulless places? | gozzie2
10/4/2024 19:48 | I don't think you can get many more people in the my local Spoons at busy times. They are often very full and standing room only at certain times. Unfortunately London Pubs rarely have Gardens either. | isis
10/4/2024 19:08 | JDW is emerging as a category killer. The downbeat reaction to the last results was driven by the lack of news on the dividend and I suspect the dividend will not be reinstated anytime soon if they get the chance to pick over S&L, which is no problem by me as i'd rather earnings were reinvested the business. TM is a good capital allocator and I wish he'd stop banging on about Brexit, C19 restrictions, VAT on food etc and get on with the business. All businesses face challenges. Simples. He should focus on what he can control and forget about the rest. | mr5k
10/4/2024 18:50 | Maybe Tim can pick up a few of the larger ones for a song to boost Wetherspoons pubs to over a thousand! Even if not as already has been said with 4500 pubs potentially closing Wetherspoons pubs are likely to benefit hugely from unexpected extra custom. | bountyhunter
10/4/2024 09:50 | Pubs they'd put on the back burner appear to be back on the agenda again which is good news. :) Spoons are the goto place if you are not happy paying £7 a pint elsewhere. They do charge that in some high profile areas but only for the Premium Beers like Leffe which would still be more elsewhere. Even in the West End/Airport ones you can still get a pint under a fiver and Coffee for £1.56 | isis
10/4/2024 07:15 | Top post VT . Gozzie2 , best you don’t post at all . | seedoftongo
09/4/2024 21:58 | They ain't shut yet ?? | gozzie2
09/4/2024 20:55 | JDW will scavenge the Slug & Lettuce carcass. This cld be an earnings game changer. Surprised at the lack price action | velocytongo
09/4/2024 19:55 | There's 4 Spoons within a mile or so where I live and they are all packed solid at Weekends and usually around Tea Time as well! | isis
09/4/2024 19:51 | What a,surprise?Pubs closing in droves ?Never ?? | gozzie2
09/4/2024 19:50 | You struggle to get a seat in the Spoons around my area at certain times of the Day as it is, they would never cope! | isis
09/4/2024 19:45 | Slug & Lettuce owner Stonegate unable to refinance £2.2 Billion of debt… 4,400 UK pubs no guarantee it can continue as a going concern. It has just been published in business section of Guardian online. JDW will be a winner if Stonegate are unable to do a deal soon…. DYOR TDR owned… same crew as ASDA … again ASDA delays…. The clock will run out June 2025. The Debt market is difficult for hospitality…. TDR must have fingers and toes crossed…. | gwatson56
09/4/2024 19:39 | Next to Yates ?FACT | gozzie2
09/4/2024 19:18 | You just knew you would have some made up story about the slug and lettuce ffs … Jack a Flippin nory .. ATTENTION SEEKER Anything anyone discusses , Gozza makes up a story about it just to try get into the craic . This is the kind of oaf you try and avoid in the pub 👇🏿 | seedoftongo |
