09/4/2024 10:09 | Moving on from Politics they certainly seem to be getting plenty of free advertising lately for the right reasons ! | isis
08/4/2024 14:37 | Maybe we just mix in different Circles. They did reject the Lisbon Treaty on the first vote but had to be bribed on the second one. Usual EU practice. | isis
08/4/2024 14:20 | You must have a very limited group of "Irish that I know", Isis. I know a lot of Irish people and not a single one of them is anti-EU. That is because the country has enjoyed great benefits from EU membership. Look at a simple, visible, measure such as comparing the state of the roads in Ireland compared to England; in Ireland, the road surfaces are, generally speaking, in excellent condition - due to EU subsidies over the years - whereas England seems to be the pot-hole capital of Europe. And hold in mind that a majority of the population in Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU. So, you are way off the mark in claiming that most people in Ireland are anti-EU. I suggest you speak to a much wider range of Irish people, before making such unsubstantiated claims in future. | glenowen
07/4/2024 22:25 | That’s another attention seeking story made up by Gozzie2. With no actual real story to tell , Gozo has to make something up to try and get into the craic like … Transparent , sad , oaf | seedoftongo
07/4/2024 22:20 | I've been on coach trips to London and the driver would always point out that Tower Bridge one, as the hotel it used was the Tower Hotel nearby ?They don't mention other pubs ?It's an institution?. | gozzie2
07/4/2024 21:51 | They could do with one at London Bridge, mega busy tourist and commuter area but I suppose it's hard to find a lease round there. I've been in the Tower Bridge one, not one of their best but is much cheaper than the Pubs round there. | isis
07/4/2024 21:50 | Tim [Martin :] can't go far wrong citing a Wetherspoons at a major station. Could be more of these going forwards? | bountyhunter

07/4/2024 19:01 | I don't think they can get any busier where I am. Was down Greenwich yesterday packed everywhere, had to wait for a table to be cleared in the Spoons was so busy on 2 Floors. | isis
07/4/2024 11:09 | I've just read an article where a guy is moaning at paying 7 pound a pint in London.Others agreeing and also moaning about their local town or city prices .In the comments there must be a 100 naming wetherspoons as a life saver and the place to go ?The vast majority of people will not keep paying extortionate prices over a long period ?I got asked 3 times last week in the street, where is the wetherspoons lol ?FACT | gozzie2
06/4/2024 14:06 | I think,Isis, that sumday is referring to media comment on Spoons..... not the punters | mr.elbee
06/4/2024 13:56 | A reasonable read... | gwatson56
05/4/2024 20:27 | Most Countries didn't have a referendum to join the EU and were just rammed into it with promises of Wonga from Brussels. Look at Ireland, most Irish I know are not happy being in the EU. | isis
05/4/2024 20:16 | It would be great to see Tim open a Wetherspoons in Brussels :-) | bountyhunter
05/4/2024 18:22 | Home buy dirt cheap, hence at resto I stick to red wine! | dudishes
05/4/2024 18:19 | Good fun, price of coffee, E2.5. Stella E17 per ltr. Apparently, the draft is 5% as bottled less? Rather pricey, but nice. | dudishes

05/4/2024 17:30 | Apart from Eire I believe there are no ‘Spoons pubs in the EU so what is the point of going there.😀 | standish11
05/4/2024 16:58 | I haven't noticed any difference. I stopped going to the EU for long holidays when they went the way of the Euro, generally too packed and too expensive everywhere. Where I live it's like the United Nations anyway, more foreign than UK. Brazilian Delis, Chilean Takeaways, you name it! lol | isis |
