If they can’t even bother to get the name over the door corrected then what does that say about the quality of what they are selling to their customers?

The 'T' has slipped out of place lol, maybe it's been fixed since that photo was taken!?
Disregarding that judging by the photo it's a nice looking pub!

Presumably not this one or this doesn't seem to make much sense unless there's another Spoons nearby or it's predominantly holiday business?

The Jolly Sailor Poole charging 5.90 for one bottle of kopperberg cider ?Greene King ..Spoons next door 2 for 5.90?It's a nice pub ,but not nice enough for double the price on drinks lol ?

Good point. Supply and demand. It's the same dynamic for Spoons with competing pubs closing.

London Hotels are always expensive but I wonder if all Hotel prices are being skewed by Asylum Seekers etc.
Greenwich Council owned up to £12m in Hotel costs.

Thanks, bountyhunter. Indeed a cleaner thread with none of the irrelevant, unpleasant posts would be good - the filter button has served me well on here and I would recommend it to all for personal well-being! Thanks to Isis for the info on subtle screens for the Euros - definitely the way to go to pull in even more punters and increase revenue. Just needs a good run all the way by our boys, with a dose of Summer sun like today, then this investment will look all the brighter!

Premier inn

BUDGET GOZZA

You rarely ever go on holiday and you elect the premier inn .
It’s average and is a good choice for those on a tight budget .

Steve Gozza , the voice of the average Joe mug punter .

1450 per share paid on JDW.
That’s why he’s still here folks .

I must admit you can't fault Premier Inn either, owned by Whitbread ?I've heard the wetherspoons hotels are good .

We need some of the more expensive places to survive to illustrate what a bargain it is to eat and drink at a Spoons pub by comparison! The drinks will normally be better as well due to the higher turnover.

Time to bounce off the 200 sma?

Spot on ?The difference last night from Spoons to the Italian restaurant opposite was remarkable? You couldn't get through the door in Spoons as it was so busy .No chance of food as all tables were full.It was a shame for the restaurant ,as it wasn't expensive and nice .We were the only customers?Must have known I was coming lol ?This was like before the pandemic without a doubt ,with it being difficult to find a seat .

In every city and town you see pubs empty and relying on weekend and evening trade to survive mainly because they have passed on the cost increases to customers making a mid week drink/meal with friends too expensive for many.Once you are charging nearly £10 for a pint you are going to lose a lot of trade.

These are experts in getting and keeping customers from students to pensioners.

Their margins may well be thin but when the time is right they have room to pass on more of the costs to customers.

Without customers you don't have a business.

Its during the tough times when you really see how good a business is anyone can make money when things are good.

I think when the economy improves, which it will these will do well.

Added this to my portfolio at the start of the year and have topped up twice recently to capitalise upon the price drop which, IMO, has made it all the more attractive as an investment. I usually drop into the William Morris at Hammersmith on my way home from work mid-week and it's always heaving. Good to enjoy a couple of guest ales in traditional surroundings with a bite to eat, knowing it's all helping the company profits!

The bottles have gone up 15p for two ?Shocking? Now 5.90 ?Cheaper than one in most places ?I'm halfway to being an alcoholic, having done 3 Spoons in 2 days ?A woman drove me to drink and I never did thank her ?

I'm holding out for a Tenner plus. Despite some closures due to a variety of reasons, 3 of which have been reprieved due to demand the Company is growing again. Some Pubs have doubled in size and had complete makeovers and there are some new builds in the pipeline.
In my area SE London they are more often than not packed to the rafters and they have considerable outside space in some areas so the Summer should see good trading. The choice of drinks, nearly all big names and pricing is hard to resist and I have managed to convert some people to using them more often purely on price alone!
It also makes sense as a good starter Pub for a Night out as you can actually talk, have an informal bite to eat and get in the mood for a Music Venue later on.
Most do have TV's now and will show the Euros, Racing and any other big events but it's not in your face. :)
