09/7/2024 14:47 | I am surprised Nike has downgraded its revenue forecast in the midst of so many sports events. Something is going critically bad in Nike. I read somewhere Nike accounts for 50% of JD sales (more in my opinion). | alotto

03/7/2024 13:53 | The point he's making is Nike DTC retail price is less than JD. | disc0dave46
03/7/2024 13:29 | buying shoes online is like getting a mailorder bride. bad idea | dealy
03/7/2024 10:07 | Except Nike is discounting AF1s to about £88 delivered vs. a JDS shop pick up price of £110 today. The manufacturers are undermining physical stores. | dgarvey
03/7/2024 08:39 | I was hoping Xd but that was 0.6p and last month! | wad collector
03/7/2024 08:06 | Thought this mornings drop may have been a belated response to the low wage rumpus, but MKS and SRBY are up so guess it's something else - broker downgrade?. | disc0dave46
03/7/2024 07:53 | Disco, I agree , the U.K. hasn’t participated in the stock market increase over the last few years, a few shares have done well but overall market sentiment is thru the floor. USA gains last year were mainly mag 7, a bit broader market increases this year though. | noramping

02/7/2024 10:25 | Apparently for the BoE the FTSE100 is due a correction, with asset valuation overstretched. I thought the exact opposite. Here is the link: hxxps://www.msn.com/ | alotto
01/7/2024 16:10 | Yeah on reflection such data wouldn't be publicly available. My overall point was that the worlds largest sports footwear manufacturers decline in revenue is highly likely to impact the likes of JD. How much we won't really know. Perhaps this weeks update may provide some clues. | disc0dave46
01/7/2024 12:01 | Tudes what you said makes sense. Assume 70% of the business is Nike across the board. Nike's projected 5% revenue drop will mean about 3.5% drop for JD. The revenue drop for JD can be partly absorbed by other brands. JD is on an expansion spree, increased foot print and geography expansion can still lead to overall revenue growth. In the meantime Nike will be fighting to gain back its market share. I read some plans in Nike to market <$100 shoes to meet demand from cash strapped consumers. From my end there is a concern that margin could be squeezed, if I well remember Hibbett margins are lower than JD's. However JD may be able to rebrand and premiumise the offering. It is very early to say but investing is about being able to foresee companies' economics. | alotto
01/7/2024 11:34 | JD wouldn't share % of sales by brand, brand owners wouldn't like it. Safe to assume finish line, shoe palace & DTLR fascias would all be Nike (& Jordan) dominated. The number I saw quoted on Hibbett was 70% of business. Impossible to say for the JD branded stores and UK/European fascias, I've never heard it quoted in any communication. | tudes100
01/7/2024 11:02 | No idea Disco I asked on another board (LSE). Maybe someone knows Interesting question | alotto
01/7/2024 08:50 | alottoThanks for the info re Nike and losing market share.JD do sell the other brands mentioned in the article. That said I'd assume that their revenue is skewed more to the top brands like Nike. Do you know their brand income breakdown? | disc0dave46
30/6/2024 21:18 | Disco sorry for the late reply Nike has said it expects a surprise 10% drop in quarterly revenue, as it faces growing competition from newer rivals such as On and Hoka. | alotto |
