Schulz is using the cash pile to open shops at a breakneck speed and to buy only ostensible growth. Like-for-like sales growth of 2% or so may mean negative growth in real terms. Inflation-adjusted, that is. Not very good. Buying growth that way in a US market not in as good shape as people may think is not a wise strategy.

Any thoughts on what's fueling the recent rise? Hope it's not the usual rise into trading update then plummet when they are viewed a disappointment. Would be good to break this range..... to the upside obviously.

Think how good brokers are. Some forecasted 300p, by memory around 2 years back, and look at the share price now, almost 60% down their old target. Brokers are clueless.
Peter Cowgill did well selling his stake at over 200p. Better to follow the money than brokers opinions.
I look forward to the trading update. I bet not before the last week of August...

DB - one broker out of the 15 covering this stock with a consensus of buy and target 168p. They have their own agenda!Seen this Wednesday for a trading update (IG calendar) but no specific date in August on the JD website. Pet hate, no excuse not to give a date, particularly as in August now ffs.

Unless Deutsch Bank has some inside knowledge, I don't see where they got that expansion and integration is going to cost JD as much as they say.
The trading update will be anytime in August.

I would ignore D-Bank downgrade. What do they know. I bet if it drops to 110p they will say to their clients it is a strong buy. Fundamentals are strong.
It is trading at a low PE so how can DB say it is overvalued.

You need to read the presentation and watch the webcast that the company did at the time of the Hibbett announcement. All available on the investor relations page on the JD site.

It would be nice to see what I'd will be doing with Hibbett, rebrand, align with JD proposition etc. Or if it will just continue business as usual. I seem to remember Hibbett has lower margins.

Difficult to judge what numbers to listen to - Nike reign in their forecasts for 2024 and jd price craters - now we have better than expected retail sales and jd jumps? We are due a trading update end of July early August so I guess until then anything non directly related to jd is just noise to be ignored lol
