23/7/2021 16:45 | No I wasn't worrying ; this is one that I never lose sleep over. Indeed just acquired some more. | ![]() wad collector
21/7/2021 17:56 | Think you might be worrying for no good reason WC. For years, JHD have issued a Pre-Close statement at the end of July, without announcing it in advance. Subsequently, in September, they announce the date of publication of Final Results which follow a couple of weeks after that. Any negative news is therefore most likely to be trailed in the Pre-Close statement. Will there be any? No idea, but the world economy seems to have recovered hugely since the first half of 2020. There was a note of caution in the Interim statement about international freight costs, which have continued to escalate since then and raw material costs are also higher than last year. Can JHD pass these on? No idea but if all competitors are in the same boat, they’ll all have to. | ![]() trigger blade
20/7/2021 13:59 | Still no results date. Somehow doubt they are hiding anything looking at share price moving to new high today. | ![]() wad collector
09/7/2021 15:21 | Hit a year high today; a good Omen I feel. And not , when it comes down to it , far off an ATH . Particularly good given the wider market is not at a high. | ![]() wad collector
08/7/2021 08:32 | No specific date, but as you say, pre close statement always end of July. | ![]() lundhousegreen
01/7/2021 11:35 | Been trying to see a date for Results , usually end of July, but nothing I can find on line or on the last interims. Lundhousegreen? | ![]() wad collector
17/6/2021 20:21 | I am surprised this share hasn’t risen but the board do not promote or push it I think it will be another record year. I still think they missed out on buying Airea At 30p a share or 3% of jhd market cap how risky was it ? | ![]() bda3490

05/2/2021 13:37 | Looks like the market has taken a bit more notice of the TU today , heading to a 9 month high. ATH not implausible in next few months. | ![]() wad collector
04/2/2021 11:55 | The bottom line was... the Company expects to report pre-tax profit for the half-year in line with last year's record level. Our balance sheet remains robust, with cash balances above our year end in June and the comparative for December 2019. That'll do me. | ![]() wad collector
01/2/2021 17:06 | Featured in today's Investor's Champion update – House broker forecasts for the year ending June 2021 are for sales of £252m (growth +5.6%), pre-tax profits of £47.5m (+8.2%) and eps of 17.9p (+8.5%). The 27x price earnings rating looks quite full in isolation, but you get real numbers from James Halstead, rather than the hugely adjusted sort of creations one sees from others. A prudent balance sheet, plenty of supportive cash and 25%+ return on equity and near 50% return on capital highlight the quality. | ![]() energeticbacker

26/11/2020 20:08 | Zang, agree on the quality aspect. They appear to have reached a size where gtowth is a little more challenging. | ![]() essentialinvestor
26/11/2020 05:39 | He'd be clobbering small companies' fund-raising abilities, annoying a lot of Tory voters and forcing smart money off-shore for not a huge amount of cash. Who knows...yes, there are cheaper AIM companies but you get solidity here, and some degree of Brexit hedge with the overseas businesses | zangdook
25/11/2020 22:27 | Agree that probability is going to hit the AIM shares ; and I think it will be regarded as a low hanging fruit for a desperate chancellor. As you say , buy for the fundamentals. But you can question an awful lot of sectors with a World recession appearing. Perhaps the answer is get out of equities. | ![]() wad collector |
