Montara wells have had a nice rest..... would expect to see some useful flush production once they're started up again...

Fair enough - I wasn't as supportive then - but kept quiet - as I only really post on holdings where I think the management are f ups - not including PHAR of course as I just poke my nose in occasionally - because apart from IOG they seem to be one of the longest surviving under-performing "management team" ever!!
Is TXP going that way as well now (very important next couple of months for them - supposedly anyway!)?

Let's be clear it is an absolute bargain for us share-holders under quid - but not for the deal-makers at JSE IMHO - I'd prefer they continued to snap up assets and or keep (some) cash available to do so quickly as the ability to close quickly is always an advantage for some - as well!

All IMHO, DYOR.

Dh, when the BB was initiated we were buying at 100p, presumably they thought it was a bargain at the time- probably still is.

Looked a bargain @82p early on last top up,just shows you patience pays off.Once the profit takers are gone we should have a clear run to the 90s

With the buy back removing 20000000 shares and most of the rest in firm institutional
hands I guess there is not that much left to buy.

At last - some movement!
Now at levels last seen during the September fall. It has been a long 4/5 months (well 8 months if the few before September are included!)

Onwards and upwards (please)... I am hoping for the significantly upwards trend to reappear :)

BL - You can drive a coach and horses between expect and certainty!

IMO most of the market, and that includes II's, have little understanding as to the intrinsic value of what they're investing in - its why 95% of Fund Managers fail to beat the Index most tacitly follow.

the imminent production at Montara, the increased production at stag and the new acquisitions puts JSE in a much better position than when the share price was nearing 110p. That's why the share price is currently disappointing.

Everything - it has moved the issue from something out of the control of JSE into their hands.

Im confused as to why a big increase was expected on that announcement. Surely prior to the announcement we/the market were all expecting a Montana restart before the end of February, and now we are expecting a restart before the end of February. Slight derisking perhaps, but what else has changed?

The market reaction/ignorance of todays announcement is surprising - imo it's generated a highly compelling investment opportunity for PI's to take advantage of as its created a major dislocation between the price of the equity and its intrinsic value.

Would bet serious money that if JSE had announced an acquisition today generating a quarter of the FCF of Montara when back in production, it would probably have seen an avalanche of II and PI's stampede in and raise the share price by 15-20p.

More divi's and buybacks on the cards once fully up to speed I'd expect, oh a few more purchases as well.

Seems a lot of the smaller oil companies have potential yet to be appreciated.
