The UK market is not functioning properly. The slightest bit of bad news and a stock can lose 30% in the blink of an Eye.
No UK Pension Fund holders to keep the market stable and PI's thin on the ground. Must be a playground for Hedgies to short without much fear.
The Whole market is becoming a Global laughing 'stock'. No wonder Companies are leaving and others taking their IPO's elsewhere!

I may be in the minority but I have a feeling the results will be a bit rosier than the doomsters are forecasting. However, when I say rosier, I don't mean that ITV will be giving us a present. If and it is an if, the results show things are improving all round and advertising isn't as bad as forecast or expected, we could see it reflected in the share price.

ITVx has had some good publicity with Mr Bates getting better viewing numbers than anything Netflix or Sky have to offer, they have built on that with a lot of new fresh drama, entertainment and documentary, sport has been good, they had the six nations and they have the Euro's coming up.

Just think of the content, the studios, the catalogue....it's a hell of a lot for a company with a derisory £2.2 billion Mkt Cap. Also praying that ITV aren't going to drop a bomb like they did in March 2022, the Dame did a lot of harm with her Liz Truss moment. As it happens that gaff was ITVx which seems to have turned out a success, but it just goes to show how long the fallout has lasted as the share price is now lower than it was on the day.

If an IPO had this lot going for it, they would be queuing round the block to buy shares. IMO being long here will reap results!

Was watching the Winter King on ITVx last night and was concerned (delighted re the continuity of viewing) about the lack of adverts during the 4 intermission slots.

Obviously the market EXPECTS the results to be poor/dire....

But will they be MORE poor or LESS poor than the market expects?

And will the FORWARD statement be more optimistic.....


Any idiot (no offence) trader465 can say "results will be poor" - that is irrelevant.

Speaking of volume, early but looking like it has picked up a lot today.

Last Friday included 2 x 10,000,000 trades. Very precise amount! Not sure of their significance, if any, but stripping them out the volume was only 8m. Vs 90-day average (last time I looked of 11.6m). Volumes, even with the larger days included are still noticebly lower since the beginning of this year.

You are right.
When I checked Yahoofinance earlier it said 27.3m, but now it says 9.2m. Last Fridays still reads 28.0m.
Like I said MM have their reasons.

Thur 7 ECB interest rate decision
Tue 12 US inflation figures
Fri 15 Quad witching
Wed 20 UK inflation figures
Wed 20 FED interest rate decision
Thur 21 BOE interest rate decision.
I think everyone is expecting no change in the interest rate decisions. However I wouldn't be too surprised if Bungle Bailey went for a 0.10% rate cut, just to prove everyone else wrong and show that he is ahead of the curve lol

There was big volume yesterday 27.3m and on last Friday 28.0m. Are people really selling before results next Thursday, as surely with the share price at 56p bad news is already priced in? I thought we would be safely in the mid 60's by now, but I'm guessing that the MM have their reasons.
Anyway hopefully up from here.
