Chatting with friends and acquaintances it would seem many are using ITVX quite a lot. In fact in some cases it's their most used platform. This never used to be the case. So I'm optimistic that this could be a wider trend. If so it's got to be good news. I personally have watched a lot of good programs on there recently My elderly mum had a new TV on weekend. The family discussed putting Netflix on the TV but opted for a paid ITVX package instead. I have a feeling the share price will start recovering soon and that ITVX numbers will be better than expected

Saw this on another blog. Seems a lot of unhappy shareholders in ITV who have signed a petition to oust Dame McCall, last time I saw one of these it was for Ian Conn(apt name) CEO of Cenrica/British Gas when the share price had fallen to 40p, he was ousted and the share price recovered to today's 127p and CNA are doing well.

ITV has recently been added here....The New 90+ StockRank screen lists stocks that have moved into the top 10 percent of the market based on Stockopedia’s three-factor StockRank model. The StockRank looks for shares that are good, cheap and improving by scoring and ranking them using a blend of Quality, Value and Momentum factors. Decades of research has shown that these factors are the driving forces behind strong returns from the stock market when applied to diversified portfolios. Stocks in this screen have seen their StockRank rise from less than 90 to more than 90 since the previous day.

BargainSniper:
You said "Why won't it directly help itv advertising"....
I think (but not 100% sure), in UK its illegal to have poltical TV adverts..
The money will be spent on posters and Polling companies and possibly AI companies doing stuff on Twitter etc....

Where ITV gain indirectly is there will be loads and loads of political pundit programs on TV and ITV will wrap these programs with lots of adverts. The nearer election day more and more airtime will be political ...

"No American is ever made better off by pulling a fellow American down ......"

Somebody ought to tell Jeff Bezos that.

A bit like Cameron's "We're all in this together"!

Political platitudes. Utter rubbish.

Sorry - that's what happens when somebody quotes JFK at me.

The "tide" alluded to is composed of free TV slots. So it will not make the slightest difference to the amount of paid for TV advertising.

A rising tide raises all boats

"President John F. Kennedy who said: “No American is ever made better off by pulling a fellow American down, and every American is made better off whenever any one of us is made better off. A rising tide raises all boats.”
