13/7/2021 14:24 | The Olympics for ITV is largely insignificant as it has been for all previous Olympics as it doesn't offer full scale coverage to viewers. Although there maybe some additional advertising revenue from the likes of JD sports and similar as well as energy drink companies. | ivanborsky
13/7/2021 13:55 | I don't know regarding advertising Net, but I would think with the Olympics not having any spectators this time because of Covid, I would imagine that this may well hit TV viewing figures with a lack of atmosphere. | nige co
13/7/2021 13:01 | Do Olympic years have a positive, negative or neutral affect on ITV profits? Gut feeling is there might be some slight advantage to ITV NOT showing the Olympics as they will get the lions share of the viewers (especially if Olympics boring) but still get all the extra advertising revenue associated with sport. What are your views? | netcurtains
12/7/2021 18:06 | Goldman wrong again! Finally, Goldman Sachs' model predicts a close call and sees a 58% chance of England winning a major tournament for the first time since 1966. Their model predicts for the final: England 2—1 Italy (extra-time) We wholeheartedly support this forecast! | geckotheglorious
12/7/2021 16:48 | Just calling it how I see it. I didn't mean to offend anyone, just my opinion. | nige co
12/7/2021 16:27 | whats that got to do with it ?i just pointed out you should be rightly proud of beating germany, but instead of calling italy cheats, perhaps focus england's shortcomings, like missing 4 from 6 penalties? | stansmith3
12/7/2021 16:09 | Would it be fair to say that you're not an England fan then Stan? | nige co
12/7/2021 14:39 | and rightly soshame england only scored two goals directly from six penalties...look no further than that... | stansmith3
12/7/2021 13:59 | England only conceded 2 goals all tournament and didn't lose a game, only on penalties. At least we can be proud that we beat the Germans. Lol | nige co
12/7/2021 13:23 | trouble with england is, had they been 2-0 up in the second half the commentators would have been talking about winning the world cup england had the tournament better than all but one team and everyone would have been happy with | stansmith3
12/7/2021 13:18 | massive home advantageno soft penalty this timeone chance on target in 120 minsstill havent learned to take penalty kicks after 25 years... | stansmith3
12/7/2021 13:12 | It's coming Rome! | stansmith3
12/7/2021 12:55 | My assessment of the England V Italy was, for the first 20 minutes England were the better team and should have believed in themselves a little bit more, that they could score another goal that probably would have won the match after taking a 1-0 lead. But the Italians are past masters at cheating, diving, fouling to win the game. Had the game been played out in the Premier League Italy would have been down to at least 10 men for their synical fouling. Having said that Italy were the better team. The young England team and manager can feel proud of what they've achieved reaching a major tournament final, after reaching the previous World Cup semi-finals. No other manger has achieved this (for England) so well done Gareth Southgate. We can look forward to next years World Cup in Qatar with great optimism. | nige co
12/7/2021 10:33 | Shame about the result last night but lets face it, win or lose ITV was going to be marked down this morning anyway (its how GS works !) Only one thing to do, just topped up again at £1.22. Keep calling them down and I will gladly pick them up !!! | ivanborsky
12/7/2021 09:42 | jeesh netim thinking its only upwards from here, good results, debt lowered again, divi reinstatement promised for next year... | stansmith3
12/7/2021 09:36 | what would be a reasonable price to buy back in? | netcurtains
12/7/2021 09:10 | so the difference in actual vs estimated - so 25% difference? remember the final was split with bbc too, so only half the viewers of the semis the best result (for revenue) would have been the game being abandoned at 75 mins with uefa ordering a replay... | stansmith3
12/7/2021 08:48 | Yes estimated, this is actual. There couldn't have been a better outcome regarding advertising. | nige co
12/7/2021 08:17 | what were you expecting? the upside was being estimated since middle of last week | stansmith3
12/7/2021 08:11 | ITV have just had a football Euro's tournament that they couldn't have dreamt of better outcome (apart from England losing on pens) with England having reached the final after extra time in the semi-final. All the extra adverts and there are only 13 trades in the first 5 minutes of trade, with next to no volume of shares trades. Needless to say the share price is down 0.50p. Why am I not surprised. | nige co
11/7/2021 10:57 | You might also have noticed that laxative ads always feature women - never men. Things are very different in ad-land. | keyno
10/7/2021 21:47 | i've just been watching a bit of telly and when it gets to the adverts i noticed that nearly everyone is black , living in a village and not getting out much i wondered if this is a true depiction of the average english person. i thought there where more asians than african origin people in this country. | cboney
10/7/2021 13:56 | It’s a politically motivated folly but ITV will be a beneficiary whether they secure ownership at the right price or fail to agree terms with the Government. But whatever happens the privatisation of CH4 under the terms discussed will be a devastating blow to the UK Independent Production Industry. The previous Tory Government (back in 2016) was correct when they decided against the privatisation of CH4 - They decided it made no sense for the viewing public or the UK Government. | hades1 |
