27/4/2021 18:19 | The last thing Liberty want right now is for a bid for ITV failing on some sort of legal issue , so it could be a case of their lawyers and GS advising them on the potential competition worries under the Liberty/Virgin brand. Who knows with this lot but as I said before on here, Rishi Sunak (ex GS)will wave it through regardless ! | ivanborsky
27/4/2021 16:30 | The Broadcaster side needs to be attached to a growth area. It's a cash cow(like a utility) but does not offer great growth potential. ITV can't really split the company without a merger of sorts. A takeover by a third party and then the Broadcaster side being merged with something else is the most likely outcome. In my opinion. | hades1
27/4/2021 16:24 | Yes we are only speculating of cause, but if ITV don't want to split the company up the only way LGV can obtain the parts that they want is to buy the whole lot. I don't know why the ITV BOD don't split ITV up if it can create shareholder value? Maybe the reason is it wouldn't have any chance of regaining the FTSE100 index. | nige co
27/4/2021 15:09 | Maybe they intend to break ITV up first? Maybe only UK Broadcaster part into VM? Roll the cash cow part of ITV into the loss making VM - maximise Tax savings Move Studios into? ALL speculation on my part. | hades1
27/4/2021 15:00 | They were never going to bid as Liberty Global according to rumours - always going to use Virgin Media. Can't use Virgin Media until o2 merger completely sealed? All possible but not 100% sure why Liberty Global could not be used - guess it was due to tax and company registration? But all registered in UK? All speculation. Will have to see. | hades1
27/4/2021 14:42 | Could the reason for moving over their ITV 9.9% holding to LGV be for tax reasons? | nige co
27/4/2021 12:26 | If you look at the Liberty Global Ventures (LGV) website, it states that LGV are looking to invest from $5m to $30m in start ups, tech companies etc. Then why would Liberty Group plc transfer over a 9.9% stake in ITV valued at around $700m over to them ?? | ivanborsky
27/4/2021 12:13 | Yes it does not look straight forward. | hades1
27/4/2021 11:13 | Hades, go and have a read on the LSE website, it looks like Liberty are up to their games again courtesy of GS ! | ivanborsky
27/4/2021 10:56 | He is a top man! IMHO RNS - declaring LG 9.9% share ownership now out. | hades1
27/4/2021 10:17 | ITV could boost profitability by ditching Robert miserable get Peston. He is a liability for the company. | tlobs2
27/4/2021 09:53 | Very quiet this week. Volume extremely low. Capped at 126p on L3 as usual. Treading water | hades1
25/4/2021 18:54 | Nothing surprises me anymore and good to see that the market is still playing their games. Roll on the week ahead, looking to add on the dips again ! | ivanborsky
25/4/2021 18:28 | FT Group own the Investors Chronicle. When you write an article for one it can be taken up by both but it rarely happens as FT newspaper is usually more picky and time sensitive. Duplication in readership between two titles is minimal. FT Pro/City folk and IC almost exclusively private investors. | hades1
25/4/2021 17:28 | Typical FT, its a lazy bit of 'research' ! They've just copied and pasted the article from the Investors Chronicle 21st April (see LSE). | ivanborsky
25/4/2021 14:13 | Thanks hades...very interesting. | jacko07
25/4/2021 12:06 | copy the last part of the url and insert it into google, follow the most obvious link from there.... | stansmith3

23/4/2021 13:17 | Nige..I would be happy to see any dividend, it would be a little reward for suffering long term holders. I won't hold my breath, but my guess if the numbers are reasonable a 3-5p dividend would be a great bonus, leaving room for another later in the year. | jacko07
23/4/2021 12:04 | I didn't wait. Added sub 116p yesterday and sub 117p today. | hades1
