If you have access to DMA there is no additional costs to trading 1000x 1 share trades or 1x1000 share trade. All done by bots.Institutions/ hedge funds/top brokers etc all have direct access to DMA.So do I via broker. So much trading is misattributed to MMs.

More than usual of the trades in ITV this morning are between MM's, they are up to manipulation, it is so obvious.

You or I would find it economically impossible to buy or sell 4 or even 20 shares at a time, broker fees admin and time would cost more than the sale However, the shares are theirs to sell. There should be laws to stop manipulation.

Look at ITV for the past couple of weeks, there has been no real selling because the float is not for sale.

They have frightened off the smaller daytraders, so only big players in the game, closed shop, we need a small shareholder revolt of buy, buy buy just like 'Gamestop'.....can't be done here, as soon as a bout of genuine buying happened, this sucker would fly..

Smoke and mirrors.

Definitely something going on here. Price is being kept low for a specific purpose. Just a matter of waiting.

It's all traded, there is no float in ITV, they have shaken the tree and now have the apples. The share price is stuck, it has moved within a couple of pence for the last 10 days. That is where they want it!

There is something on the cards, any bid from here would be based on this lowly springboard of 122p to 126p. I would say any bid would be 188p to 193p which of course would be cheap for what there is. The sum of the parts is closer to 300p.

My guess now, it will be in the next month. My advice is to stay long.

It's making a hard job of breaking 124p. MM's are manipulating.

And the company releases a trading statement the following week. Just looked up the ITV website and a bullish statement about the global reach of Love Island, which will please the ITV analysts at the Sunday Times, here's an extract:- 'The dating sensation is booming across the globe. This weekend the show premiered in Spain on Neox, Nova, Mega, Atreseries and on pay TV platform Atresplayer Premium with 640.000 viewers, taking a 3.9% market share and became the most followed proposal on the DTT market. In Germany Love Island concluded its 5th season with an average of 750k viewers and a 3.4% market share (individuals), exceeding RTL ZWEI's slot average audience by 13%. Once again, the show was a huge success with younger viewers, securing 17.4% in the 14-29 demographic. This is a build of +176% on the broadcaster's slot audience (6.8%). In Poland, the third series had its best launch ever and is on track to deliver the biggest series to date with an average of a 7.3% market share (individuals). The current season is +43% up on Polsat’s slot slot volume in the commercial 16-49 demographic. With more than a million digital views, Love Island South Africa became the top video-on-demand content on the DStv App, and the linear ratings were up by 21% on M-Net’s 9:30pm slot.'

Three factors that could influence the Itv share price

The price rise could simply be due to shops opening and therefore more advertising revenue pumping into the system.

Slater5, you may have a point. However, LG sold cable assets to Vodafone for 18.4Bln Euros. I do believe that LG are intending to do something with their ITV holding, either sell it on or use it to bid themselves. Time will tell.

Nige..Liberty took a $386 million loss on F1 in 2020, that loss is just part of their problem. I don't see Liberty being in a position to bid for ITV or anything else.

Their share price was $40 when they took the ITV stake, it's $25 today. It would seem more likely that Liberty would be glad to sell their stake, which I think will happen.

Liberty would have done better to buy ITV than buy F1, they made a bad move and it will take a long time to recover.

Marksp, what percentage stake would you think that an activist investor would need to be able to have any say in the company? Fairly large I would have thought. Maybe this would be possible if they were to acquire LG's 9.9%. I do believe that LG recalled their holding from Goldman for a reason.

Stansmith

I doubt a TO
I think a split is much more likely so would expect an activist to buy in and try and force the issue.

It's the logical conclusion or were they just buying back what they sold earlier.Either price being controlled within a range or someone accumulating?Should find out soon enough.
