11/5/2024 09:13 | That increase in short has developed during this last week against a backdrop of near-zero buybacks. So, those sells have been taken up by new longs. Which bodes well for more advances in the coming days. The 79-80p level is a near-term obstacle though. Will ITV recommence buybacks next week? | huckers
11/5/2024 09:02 | Perhaps they need to off-set capital gains.... Why other people do things is never as simple as we think. | netcurtains
11/5/2024 08:58 | Qube have INCREASED their short on ITV. These shorters just aren't having it eh? Let's hope they get burned 🔥! spud | jonnybig
11/5/2024 08:24 | Suspect they have built up for financials. Come to think of it, 72p may be gapped if not triggered prior to release best make a decision now | putinaire
11/5/2024 08:17 | Bored to bits with advfn now. Finished with it so thought id exit on a proper call haha | institutional investments
11/5/2024 08:16 | BT being heavily targeted, well, makes sense on a yield and sector score too at VOD | institutional investments
11/5/2024 08:14 | I am happy to enter the zone given fund breakdown of the 5 months. But this is an easier entry on probably risk reduced 80% if not one for fund drills Good price. Would have fund support just under your position. This could easily double (if taking out 115s), as you collect the yield Not many of these around i can't see ITV offering the capital protection re share price rise because its not got flows/support like VOD | institutional investments
11/5/2024 08:01 | UK Dividend baskets going on a major breakout path now. Starting to think that VOD 5 month consolidation is the real yield sector value i see a few funds are heavy in it, and the likes of Ishares UK dividends have it as a top 3 holding now after adding more. Seems like it will have good protection for capital Took some VOD. Forward yields projected at circa 6% LT, means they expect a good share price rise after build The looney could be the best value yield bet out there | institutional investments
11/5/2024 05:41 | Joyous news. Fingers crossed they lose a good few million on this ill timed gamble. | tlobs2

10/5/2024 22:20 | The FCA buyback guidelines are simply based on publicly available volume data not the ‘order book’, level-2 or anything else. MAR 1 Annex 1 Provisions of the Buy-back and Stabilisation Regulation relating to buy-back programmes “In so far as volume is concerned, the issuer must not purchase more than 25% of the average daily volume of the shares in any one day on the [regulated market] on which the purchase is carried out. The average daily volume figure must be based on the average daily volume traded in the month preceding the month of public disclosure of that programme and fixed on that basis for the authorised period of the programme. Where the programme makes no reference to that volume, the average daily volume figure must be based on the average daily volume traded in the 20 trading days preceding the date of purchase.” hxxps://www.handbook | bigegoadvfn
10/5/2024 21:57 | Are you tracking vs order book volume please? | matthewr1
10/5/2024 21:48 | I track buyback vs. Volume over time too and they’re nowhere near the 25% limit… so don’t think it’s due to the cap. | bigegoadvfn
10/5/2024 21:41 | Looking to buy in at 64p, so in a couple of weeks. | rongetsrich
10/5/2024 21:37 | I just looked back at when I asked questions of a mate who still works in the city around buyback rules and they did say “in most cases it refers to a maximum 25% of the order book volume over a specified period , in most cases 20 days.” So it’s possible they were up with the volume cap so couldn’t. It’s also very possible that there are restrictions on executing buybacks around results m so I think that’s likely too. Absolutely zero chance that this is the company holding off for lower prices , nor the corporate broker. (Imho) Nothing sinister going on here people. | matthewr1

10/5/2024 19:24 | Huckers, yes good question. Logically if discretion is involved rather than simply being systemic - you would reduce buyback activity if you anticipated lower prices ahead otherwise why not simply exercise the maximum allowed purchase in ratio to volume? It’s really odd, I track the stats as you know and it’s not proceeding at all as expected… Anyone think of other reasons the buyback volume is so low? Current data: | bigegoadvfn |
