09/4/2024 10:25 | My thinking is that, unless tomorrows US inflation figures come in good, I think the US can kiss goodbye to any interest rate cuts soon (with talk of rate hikes back on the table by some hawks). Why would the FED want to cut rates anyway? Their inflation is way over the 2% target and their economy is firing on all cylinders. Brent Oil is up to $90 again, if this persists, its only a question of time before it feeds through to higher inflation. Also the central banks are rapidly shrinking their balance sheets (QT)(the reverse of QE). This will feed through to real world higher interest rates at some point. The long term average for interest rates was always 5%, I think people need to start accepting that the days of ultra loose policy are over. It is somewhat different here in the UK, in that inflation will drop below the 2% target and the economy is not firing on all cylinders (however it is getting better all of the time). Also Bungle has to cut interest rates before the election or else he won't get his knighthood! | kelso29

08/4/2024 09:09 | We need streaming advertising revenue to be as robust as the viewing figures....Its easy to give something away for free, its harder to monetize it. We need more adverts on ITVx.... Too many programs are going out on ITVx with little or no adverts..... | netcurtains
